Did the lack of leadership contribute substantially to the tragedy? Specifically, there was no supervisor present at the scene as far as was apparent from initial reports. In addition, there was pressure placed on the SCORPION UNIT to increase gun seizures and arrests of violent individuals. There is no doubt that “street crime units” are given more latitude to make arrests. How is this balanced with avoiding such a tragedy?

In addition to the nationwide violence that broke out after that murder at the hands of a police officer, there was a widespread call for defunding the police as well as other anti-police sentiment. What is your opinion (and basis) of this reaction and if it will happen again?
