In the first section describe three observations that you have about the reading material from the Traditions and Encounters textbook. If you have more than one chapter to read for the unit, one observation should be from one chapter; another from another chapter; the third can be from either chapter. For each observation, indicate why it is important, the era you are talking about, location, who is involved. The first section should be about 3 sentences for each observation.
The second section should include 2 questions that relate to what you do not understand about the day’s assignment, or areas that you would like to explore further. If there are two chapters, prepare a question for each chapter.
The third section should include your description and evaluation of a primary source from the unit’s assignment, that is, the “Sources from the Past” boxes. First describe then determine the degree to which the source is a has validity as a source of evidence for the period being studies. Is it reliable? Is it “fake news?” Is it fantasy?. The description should include who, where, when. The third section should be about 100 words in length.
The 3-2-1s should be written carefully and precisely. In all cases, indicate the page number from which the evidence is taken, using the format, for example (BZ 656). BZ refers to Bentley and Zeigler, the authors of the Traditions and Encounters textbook. Remember to cite the source, not just when you quote, but also when you summarize or paraphrase from the source. (CHAPTER 4 ONLY)
