Three Day Road Assignment
The passage is from page 372 – 375. The pictures of the passage are attached separately. More specifically, the passage starts after the first paragraph of 372 and ends after the first paragraph of page 375.
Assignment: You have to pick two literary elements/devices from the passage and analyze those lines in which it contains the literary elements by clarifying how it connects and talks about the topic sentence/thesis (outlined below). For instance, one literary element could be diction and say how that word/line that contains the diction identified, speaks to the thesis by analyzing it in depth. Essentially, you’re looking for two supporting arguments of the thesis based on literary elements. Each supporting argument that is based off a literary element, must be a paragraph long.
Note: When analyzing the text based off a literary element/device by how it speaks to the thesis, you should also try to broaden the sense of knowledge. So how that analysis also connects to the character in general or a conflict or/and setting or/and plot etc.
Topic sentence/thesis:
General Topic: Identity: Construction & Destruction.
Thesis: The traumatic and near-death experiences that Xavier encountered decayed his sense of self, leading to a struggle for Xavier to renew his identity.
