Hypothesis 1: Higher frequency of social media usage will be associated with increased symptoms of depression, anxiety, and lower self-esteem among college students.

Research Question 2: Is there a significant relationship between the duration of social media usage and college students’ academic performance? Hypothesis 2: Longer duration of social media usage will be associated with lower academic performance among college students.

Research Question 3: Are there any moderating factors that influence the relationship between social media usage and mental health/academic performance? Hypothesis 3: Factors such as gender, age, social support, and self-regulation may moderate the relationship between social media usage and mental health/academic performance outcomes.

By examining these research questions, this study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the impact of social media on the mental well-being and academic success of college students.
