ASSIGNMENT AIM
The aim of this assignment is for you find the evidence (or lack thereof) that supports an aspect of paramedic practice and to report your findings. At the end of your assignment you should be aware of what is known about your topic and what questions still need to be answered.
ASSIGNMENT TASK
Part A: Literature Review
Select an aspect of prehospital emergency health care of interest to you, such as:
• Disease or traumatic condition
• Therapy
• Pharmacological agent
• Current CPG (Clinical Practice Guideline) of Ambulance Victoria, Australia.
• Current or evolving medical management that may be useful in paramedicine
Perform a literature review of 1000 words (+/-10%) to identify the evidence existing (and absent) about your topic. The review should be in the standard form (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion) and contain a reference list at the end (not included in word count). The reference style expected for this assignment is Vancouver (Bibliography is very important).
Literature (in this assignment) refers to: Peer-reviewed research journal articles .
DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING:
– Wikipedia.
– Articles from mainstream media (e.g. The Age).
– Websites such as health.com, DR.com, betterhealth.vic.gov.au.
– Other reviews.
– Articles from non-peer reviewed journals.
– Editorials.
You may wish to include a table of findings. This table is also not included in the word count.
Part B: Poster
Using the information you have created within your literature review, create a poster slide with the PowerPoint template provided. Do not provide new information here, but rather use what you have written to create a visual display of your work by including pictures or images to highlight its value .
