Pick a topic of interest to you. Make sure it is something you feel is important, something you would like to know more about and that means enough to you to compel you to make assertions about it.
You need a clear thesis. This means you need to argue something about it, not just describe what it is. Imagine that you have to convince someone who does not agree with you.
You need at least two academic sources for this paper and quote them for examples and evidence. If you have doubts about what an “academic” source is, feel free to email me. Academic sources include books, scholarly journals, and library databases. Depending on your topic, consider sources like newspapers or archive.org.

Purpose. It’s what everyone is searching for in life. Sometimes it takes years for people to find how they are meant to better the world and shape the future. My purpose is to help others overcome their insecurities and inadequacies through dental healthcare. My drive to instill cosmetic appearance stems from an interaction during a week-long service learning trip in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We were nearing the final few patients when a young woman so ashamed of her own smile requested everyone except the oral surgeon to leave the room. I later learned that she asked for all of her front teeth to be removed because of the massive decay. At the time I didn’t understand how someone as young as me would want to get multiple of their front teeth removed, but after talking with Dr. Bruno I realized that she was only doing what was the norm. Most I will work in underserved communities to help restore and instill confidence in cosmetic appearance while emphasizing the importance of dental hygiene and healthy eating habits.
