“Origin and Cause Fire Investigation Report”

Suppose you were a qualified fire investigator of a Fire Investigation Consultants Ltd, you are required to write a Critique Report of 2,000 words as a Technical Peer Review for a selected “Origin and Cause Fire Investigation Report” obtainable from a quoted Internet source for any one type of the following fire investigation reports:

  1. Compartment fire;
  2. Kitchen fire;
  3. Vehicle fire; or
  4. Arson fire.
    In the critique report, the following aspects shall be included:

  7. Fire investigation management employed in your selected fire investigation report and give your suggestion for any improvements;
  8. Fire investigation methods and procedures employed in your selected fire investigation report and give your suggestion for any improvements;
  9. Whether the investigation was adopting the principles of “Negative Corpus” or “Evidence-based scientific investigation”?
  10. Whether there are any possible elements of deliberate act or arson could be suggested to the fire investigator;
  11. Any forensic/laboratory supports or experts can be suggested to develop alternative hypotheses and/or to support or refute the final hypothesis;
  12. Any Fire Engineering considerations and calculations can be suggested to improve the report; and
  13. Give your overall comments for the determination of the “origin” and “cause” of your selected fire investigation report.
