How can understanding emotional labor help with this situation for employees and managers?
What would you suggest that they do at American Express to help their employees better manage stress?
Make sure to outline how your solution can specifically help this problem.

Imagine you work for a successful company and have been asked to be a guest speaker for an entry-level organizational behavior course at a local college. The goal of your presentation is to help the college students gain a basic understanding of organizational behavior and be able to speak to its importance in an organization.

Create a 350- word handout, such as a chart or a fact sheet, you can give to students during your presentation. Address the following in your handout:

Define organizational behavior.
Describe how different components of organizational behavior are used within an organization.
Identify how the use of organizational behavior can lead to the success and failure of an organization.
Cite any reputable references. Reputable references include trade or industry publications; government or agency websites; scholarly works; your textbook, Organizational Behavior in Health Care (4th ed.); or other sources of similar quality.

Organizational Behavior

An organizational development intervention is typically required when a problem, such as morale, behavior, or absenteeism, poses a threat to productivity and profitability.

You are an internal organizational consultant in an organization in which you are now employed, or in an organization in which you were recently employed. Describe and analyze an O.B. problem(s) and recommend an organizational plan for change and intervention, based on what you have learned from this course. Provide your rationale as to why you think your approach will help. This will require a practitioner analysis of the organizational problem of interest to you and an academic literature review of similar organization problems and interventions that you believe will be most beneficial in solving the problem. Also, provide an evaluation plan for the proposed intervention(s).

Key components of Phase I:

Introduce your paper – Since the first paragraph or section of a document is assumed to be the introduction, “the heading ‘Introduction’ is not needed. Do not begin a paper with an ‘Introduction’ heading” (APA, 2020, p. 47). The first section heading after the introductory paragraph or section should be a Level 1 heading (APA, 2020, p. 47).
Problem Identification (Description of the problem)
Description of the Organization (Hypothetical or real)
Context of the Problem – provide specific details about patterns observed or tangible evidence that the problem impacts productivity and efficiency. This creates a compelling need for change and intervention. If possible, include statistical data and quotes from workers to support each statement you make:
How do you know it’s a problem?
Specifically, what is the problem?

Organizational Behavior

As an employee in an organization, it may happen that you are faced with a situation that puts your ethics to the test. In order to help prepare you overcome those forces that might prevent you from reaching your ethical leadership potential, I want you to review several of the ethical dilemmas below, which are based upon actual situations employees have found themselves facing.

After reading several of these mini cases, pick one that interests you and address the following questions and explain.

What are the major elements of the situation influencing your thoughts, decisions, and (hypothetical) actions?
How would you respond in the situation?
Why you chose that response.
Submission Instructions:

If possible, please choose one that has not been posted (or only has a couple of posts rather than dozens). Please post your initial response in 250 – 350 words

Investigate professional journals and locate two articles relevant to issues in the United States and that pertain to organizational behavior topics from this course that interest you. You are to critique each article according to the instructions below. The articles should be less than three-years-old. You are to use the ProQuest Central database found in the University of Arizona Global Campus Library.

Each three-page critique (a total of six pages for both critiques) must include the following three parts. Include both article reviews into one document for submission to Waypoint (do not submit two documents).

Complete the following three parts:

Identify the articles
Provide the reader with enough information about your articles so they will be able to locate the article. Describe your search process.
Summarize the articles
Identify the main points that the authors have tried to establish (i.e., 1, 2, 3, or first, second, third). There normally will be three to five main points per article. If you are summarizing a court case, you should discuss the following:
What provision of the law was at issue? Briefly state the facts of the case.
What legal tests were applied?
Were there any unusual elements in the case?

Organizational behavior

Organizational behavior is a field that draws heavily on the disciplines of psychology, anthropology, sociology, economics, and political science. Using at least three specific Scriptures to support your assertions, provide one or more unique perspectives that a biblical worldview would contribute to the field of organizational behavior and management. In other words, tell how a Christian or biblically-based worldview will cause one to think of management and OB differently from someone without these bases.
