Ethical, Moral, and Legal Attitudes in Nursing

In their daily work, nurses continually deal with human, intimate and transcendental situations, ranging from the process of celebrating a birth to the difficult coping with pain, loss and death. Events where the nurse must decide the morality of his or her own actions when facing ethical, moral, legal and spiritual situations in the performance of nursing care. Due to the particular helping relationship between the nurse and the patient, this professional agrees on the support and defense of the patient and family who are faced with making difficult decisions about health, for which they are not necessarily prepared. From there, we must ask ourselves what are the ethical, moral and legal attitudes and behaviors expected of a professional nurse? What influence do our own moral values, attitudes and behaviors have on making ethical decisions as a professional? And what is my role as a nurse patient advocate?
