Individual And Group Motivation

Organizational leaders must understand how to motivate employees in a variety of means (both extrinsic and intrinsic). Research the major motivational theories, and select 3 theories to examine, analyze, and discuss.

For each of the motivational theories, concentrate on the following:

Briefly describe each theory (history, foundation, model, and application).

Discuss the strength and weakness of each theory.

Explain options and strategies that an organization can utilize to apply this theory to motivate employees.

Select 1 theory to implement.

Develop a specific method for implementation explaining your rationale for the selection of this theory and your proposed implementation design.

Individual And Group Motivation

Employees are uniquely individual. This uniqueness makes them valuable because in that individual approach to work, each employee brings personality, history, culture, values, creativity, innovation, and other personal characteristics to the team. It also makes managing and leading employees challenging.

Also, employee morale and motivation are essential attributes of successful organizations. Employees who are not happy with the work environment become distracted, and, at worst, destructive to productivity and organizational efficiencies. Discuss the following:

Explain the impact of an individual’s personality on work performance, morale, and motivation.
Describe the impact of organizational variables that impact work performance, morale, and motivation.
Discuss how employee empowerment and decision-making autonomy impact work performance, morale, and motivation.
