FOSTERING CIVILITY&CONFLICT RESOLUTION

 

From assigned reading (Schlak et al,2021 Nursing Burnout and Patient Outcomes;
Workplace Bullying and Intent Hampton & Rayens 2019; Managing Interpersonal
Conflict Angelo 2019), and from your experience working through the COVID
crisis, describe challenges, barriers, and strategies to maintaining personal health,
family/work balance, safety in patient care, and promotion of civility among fellow
health care staff. Incorporate nursing theories related to patient-centered care,
collaboration, teamwork, and organizational commitment of resources, to
counteract an environment of incivility. Include in your response those skills you
employed to combat workplace violence, compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout.
Reflecting on your entry level nursing education program, was incivility addressed
in the curriculum? How might you effect a culture of civility, ethics, and
therapeutic communication in the education of nurses, and beyond?
