Select any species classified as endangered and do further research on issues and conditions threatening that animal. Present a solution for its preservation. Cite your sources. Once you have made your initial post, critique the solutions presented by at least two of your classmates with whom you disagree.
Today, no less than 3,079 species of animals are endangered due to excessive hunting, the illegal traffic of skin and animal products in some parts of the world or because of climate change. Many countries are making active efforts to try to stop this phenomena. They are not only trying to stimulate the reproduction of the few animals that still survive, but they are creating natural reservations where they are offering the perfect habitat for the renewal of the species. Research endangered species and report back with specific examples of how scientists and concerned people are trying to prevent more species from being added to the list.
A challenge of addressing all problems, not just environmental ones, is limited resources. One issue with the Endangered Species List is that there has to be a recovery plan and money to fund that plan in order for organisms to be federally listed as endangered and receive protection. Choose one of the following organisms to save as you only have the funds to save one:
Hawaiian Monk Seal
Manatee
Gray Wolf
Grizzly Bear
Florida Panther
You must justify your response with at least three reasons why this is the you feel should be saved. You must also give your plan to save this organism.
