Early childhood.

apply these ideas to your own life.

1.) Choose a significant memory from your early childhood. Describe the memory as clearly as you can. It is important to put this in writing before you proceed to the next steps. Take as much space as you need to write this, although 2-3 paragraphs will suffice.

2). Independently ask multiple family members or other people who were also present for the situation ( at least 2) to describe the event in as much detail as possible.
Share each description.

        Person A:

        Person B:

3.) In all likelihood, their memories of it will differ dramatically. Note any meaningful differences here. You may separate by person, or cluster differences together. 1-2 paragraphs.

4.) Using the ideas from Chapter Two, how do you (or could you) explain these differing truths? 1-2 paragraphs.

Early childhood, from birth to eight years

, is the most critical phase of human development. The experiences children have during this time have the power to shape their health and well-being, both positively and negatively, for years to come. In your initial post, use the “No Small Matter” documentary to explain why it is important to invest in young children from birth to five years.

Share an example of a partnership that you, as a current or aspiring early education professional, would develop with families and the community.
How does this partnership support children?
What steps would you take to get started?
How do these steps connect to the essential components of family-school-community partnerships?
