Don Quixote

 

Explore the idea/theme of madness in the passages from the assigned Don Quixote readings. Is he a madman? Or, as some have suggested, is he merely bored? He reads, and reads, and reads his books. What does madness really look like? Does he perhaps just have a warped sense of reality? Consider: “In many ways, Don Quixote is a novel about how Don Quixote perceives theworld and about how other characters perceive Don Quixote. His tendency to transform everydaypeople and objects into more dramatic, epic, and fantastic versions of themselves forces those around him to choose between adapting to his imaginary world or opposing.
