Students may choose from one of the topics provided below. Once you’ve identified the topic, write a narrative of the topic and create a PowerPoint presentation.

The narrative should be no more than 1 page summarizing the key points of your topic of interest and your major findings.

The PowerPoint presentation should be supported by resources and provide more detailed information about your topic.

  1. Select a trend or issue in juvenile justice identified in course materials or in your course textbook. Use data sources to explain the issue and its continuing importance in juvenile justice. Discuss the impact and outcomes of the selected topic. As required, provide a written narrative and PowerPoint presentation highlighting your topic and information. Example topics may include gangs, substance abuse, abuse/neglect, cyberbullying, etc.

A student notifies you that she has been subjected to bullying through a classmate’s Facebook page.
In this assignment you will answer the following
Provide the steps you are required to take that are consistent with state statutes, your district’s school board policies, faculty handbook, and the student handbook;
Any First Amendment arguments you think the student with the Facebook page may raise; and
Responses you could make to the First Amendment arguments that are consistent with the cases in the assigned readings.
