Cultural Conflict Analysis

1.Identify a social issue that causes conflict between two opposing cultural groups who oppose or support the issues.

2.Identify the two cultural groups who oppose each other in the social conflict as follows:
• Supporters and opponents of gender neutral restrooms
• Supporters and opponents of prayer in public schools
• Supporters and opponents of free contraception for under-age minors
• Supporters and opponents of unionized teachers vs. non-union teachers

3.In a one-page paper, briefly describe one social conflict and the two groups that have opposite perspectives that cause conflict between them. This must be something for which the groups actively oppose each other’s views, behaviors, attitudes, beliefs. Note: This is not about how two cultures, races or groups are different from each other, but rather how they conflict on a given social issue.

  1. Locate and briefly summarize four scholarly/authoritative (research-based, peerreviewed) articles within the past 10 years about the conflict or the groups to include in an annotated bibliography, formatted using APA style references.
  2. Submit your group selection, topics, and annotated bibliography in one document.

In Part 2 of the assignment, you will research and analyze the three topics after reviewing instructor feedback from Part 1 and make recommendations for mediating the conflict between the two groups.
