Country analysis

 

Write a political / governmental profile of one of the pre-approved countries/ states listed below. If you would like to select a state that does not exist on the list, be sure to have it approved by me. This profile should include the following sections in your paper:
1. Demographics
a. Highlight the demographical information and trends that are most important to your country/ state.
b. You may wish to incorporate demographical information relating to the following concepts; religion, ethnic identity, ethnic linguistic groups, level of income, level of education…
c. Be sure to include the dominate languages spoken.
2. A brief geographical description
a. Be sure to identify and explain any geographical features that are significant politically and economically.
b. Incorporate the impact of climate and topography. Feel free to include maps to aid in your discussion.
3. Classification in terms of political structure
a. Identify whether this particular country operates as a Unitary, Confederal, or Federal System
b. Be sure to incorporate whether or not this is a constitutional system as well.
4. Classification in terms of Economic stability
a. Identify the category that best relates to country/ state you have selected.
5. The Government and Politics (what type of system exists? ie. Parliamentary democracy, monarchy, dictatorship…)
a. Overview of the existing governmental institutions
b. Overview of each (who performs each function and how are they selected)
i. Legislative function
ii. Executive function
iii. Judicial Function
6. Significant Political Parties
a. Provide a brief overview of the political platform for each party.
b. Identify whether a One Party/ Two Party/ Multiple Party System
7. Significant Interest Groups
8. Economic System

a. Provide an overview of the economic system embedded in the state that you selected.

15. Why do you recommend this type of business?
16. What type of government do they have?
17. Name one International Company and one local company that does business in this country.
18. What type of business does this international company operate in this country?
19. What is the strategy of this international company you have identified?
20. Translate the following sentence/phrase in their local language:
“Global business is one of the most exciting, most challenging, and most relevant subjects offered by business schools.”
