Political Issues in nursing

Review the assigned article for this week, Buerhaus, P. I. (2010). Healthcare payment reform: Implications for nurses. Nursing Economics, 28(1), 49–54.
An emerging political issue is to change the way healthcare providers are compensated to control healthcare spending. Nurses are the largest group of healthcare providers and can make the greatest impact on the healthcare system. Compare and contrast two advantages versus the disadvantages of the policy to disentangle nursing costs from the patient room charges and/or organization charges. How can this policy affect your policy priority? Is there evidence?

Abstract Expressionist Art Exhibition

Imagine it is 1954 and you have just read a critic’s scathing review of an Abstract Expressionist art exhibition.
Write a 750- to 1,050-word letter to the editor responding to the attack. At the beginning of your letter, discuss how the work of American artwork created in the 1930s embodied Democratic values. Then, discuss Abstract Expressionism as an extension of those values and a demonstration of the freedom of expression available to artists in American society.
Include discussion of the following in your letter:
Two examples of art from the 1930s with explanation of how these artworks embody democratic values; were the works tools of social reform? If so, what were the goals of the artists? Were the works depicting uniquely American scenes? If so, for what purpose?
One example of a work of Abstract Expressionism
How the Abstract Expressionist artist expressed themselves using this abstract style; what were they “saying?” or what was the message of their artwork? What influenced their work?

Secondary Application Essay

Prompt: Our school of medicine educates future physicians with the following values in mind: Patient Advocacy; Community-Focus; Cultural Awareness; Collaborative Leadership Style; Lifelong Problem Solving.Choose TWO (2) of these values and explain their importance to you, as well as how they integrate with each other. Finish by indicating how this integration will impact your medical school education.

My thoughts: I think community-focus and cultural awareness have pretty good connections because our community has diverse populations and many people have different cultures from each other. I think when you write about these two, focus on how they integrate with each other and how this integration will impact my medical schools education is the key. Thank you very much for writing this essay.

How has globalization affected a culture or specific industry within a culture

This paper is a final research paper for my Politics and Economics in Globalization, and the professor has asked for a research paper but he has been very open about the subject. We can write about anything that we want, that has to do with globalization and how it has affected a culture or specific field, but he wants a very strong thesis. He said that the tittle of the essay and thesis is what will make it be worthy to read or not for him. You could talk about how Globalization has changed the chinese culture and how they do to appeal to all of this huge companies, how india came up with their own hollywood to respond to globalization and keep their identity in the film industry… what you decide to talk about is entirely up to you! just make it very specific!
