Answer each of the following questions on the peril of conflict and the promise of conflict resolution. Your answer to each item should be an essay of 350 to 800 words in length. (With a typical font and spacing, this comes to between 1½ and 3 pages.) It is recommended that you refer to outside sources as you consider these issues. Be sure to document your sources correctly.

1. Asymmetrical violence (including terrorism) has historically accompanied eras of global economic expansion and rapid technological change. How might the technologies and movements of goods, people, and money that power globalization also inspire violence? What steps can be taken to mitigate reactionary movements to the forces of globalization? Is this violence nihilistic or simply “politics by other means”? How are economics likely to drive conflict in the future? in your answer, discuss global conflict from the end of the Cold War to the present.

2. How would the global risk calculus of individuals, organizations, and governments shift if a weapon of mass destruction were detonated in a heavily populated city? The likelihood of such an event is high according to experts around the globe. Would such an event promote closer cooperation between countries in fighting the spread of WMDs or would it drive countries further apart and back within their sovereign borders?

PROJECT ASSIGNMENT

Each student will work on a market analysis project for the proposed residential development in Brooklyn, New York. Your job will be to analyze whether a property ought to be built given the current real estate environment, taking into account short-term and long-term economic indicators for the market study area – national, regional, state and local. Your project should also include an analysis of the national, regional, state and local real estate market conditions. You must consider and analyze all aspects of the real estate market including, but not limited to, price-per-foot rental rates, price-per-foot sales rates (by type and unit size), types of properties in the market, recent and future development projects. In short, when you are finished with this project you will be an expert on the market and be able to definatively prove the viability of a new residential project.

The project represents 45% of your grade and should be treated as such. The project paper represents 35% of the grade. There is no limitation on page count but it is expected that each paper will be at least 30 pages in length. This is a RESEARCH PAPER. A bibliography is required. Footnotes oe End Notes are required.

On the second to last day of class you will present your project to the entire class. Project Presentations are limited to 7 minutes each. Powerpoint slides should be submitted to me on the Sunday before they are due for the class to review during your presentation.

This is a graduate level class and the projects are limited to Brooklyn so that you can take full advantage of doing a neighborhood-specific analysis of your project. The presentations should include – market analysis, market feasibility, highest and best use analysis, neighborhood visits, photographs, pedestrian counts, competitive property analysis, etc.

Golden Tone Telecommunication Organisation Case Study.
Structural deficiencies
It is not easy to describe, in a positive manner, what constitutes a ‘good’ or effective organisation structure although clearly attention should be given to basic considerations and principles of design. However, the negative effects of a poorly designed structure can arguably be identified more easily.
Case study: Leadership in telecommunications
The Chairman of Golden-tone Telecommunications PLC (GT), Steve Wright, had come under increasing pressure from the shareholders because of the company’s poor performance. GT has gone from being one of the most successful telecommunications companies of the 1980s and 1990s when the company was asset rich, to a position where it has accumulated an enormous debt.
Much of the responsibility for this dreadful decline in the fortunes of GT has been attributed to Steve Wright. Business analysts of the telecommunications industry have suggested a number of reasons why the company’s performance has deteriorated.
They include:
GT did not introduce new technology quickly enough and did not adapt to the changes in the consumer telecommunications market; for example, the rapid changes that have occurred in the mobile phone industry. The competition in the telecommunications sector has dramatically increased. This reduced GT’s market share and weakened its competitive position. The competition responded faster to the changes in the market.
GT is still organised in a traditional hierarchical structure, as it has always been.
Decision making is still made by committees, which take far too long to make the necessary decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
GT’s competitors have far more responsive organisation structures, which allow decisions to be made within days.
Analysts also pointed out that Steve Wright does not have the leadership skills that a modern company requires. They said he is more of a traditional manager, who is more concerned with maintaining and controlling GT. These skills, they argue, are more suited to organisations of the past, which did not need to respond quickly to the changes in the market place.

Abstract Expressionist Art Exhibition

Imagine it is 1954 and you have just read a critic’s scathing review of an Abstract Expressionist art exhibition.
Write a 750- to 1,050-word letter to the editor responding to the attack. At the beginning of your letter, discuss how the work of American artwork created in the 1930s embodied Democratic values. Then, discuss Abstract Expressionism as an extension of those values and a demonstration of the freedom of expression available to artists in American society.
Include discussion of the following in your letter:
Two examples of art from the 1930s with explanation of how these artworks embody democratic values; were the works tools of social reform? If so, what were the goals of the artists? Were the works depicting uniquely American scenes? If so, for what purpose?
One example of a work of Abstract Expressionism
How the Abstract Expressionist artist expressed themselves using this abstract style; what were they “saying?” or what was the message of their artwork? What influenced their work?
Format your letter according to appropriate course level APA guidelines

Political Issues in nursing

Review the assigned article for this week, Buerhaus, P. I. (2010). Healthcare payment reform: Implications for nurses. Nursing Economics, 28(1), 49–54.

An emerging political issue is to change the way healthcare providers are compensated to control healthcare spending. Nurses are the largest group of healthcare providers and can make the greatest impact on the healthcare system. Compare and contrast two advantages versus the disadvantages of the policy to disentangle nursing costs from the patient room charges and/or organization charges. How can this policy affect your policy priority? Is there evidence?

2 The content on the slides did not have to much words because
He just mentioned the main point .

Used a stick to point

Also he had enough information about his content.

He had clear voice so we heard when I was on the back.

Negative things

However, there were some bad things which the presenter did it.
Even though the slides were organized by words but he had some slides had too much graphs

He most of the time read from the slides , so he loosed eye contact with eduance
