Sociological Biography Mid-term Presentation:
You will prepare a dynamic and engaging 15-minute.
Select someone who you want to learn more about from the lens of the Sociological Perspective. This person can be someone you know or a celebrity, or
historical figure.
Where do they reside (lives), works, and recreates (socializes) there?
What are the problems and issues they are facing or have overcome?
Why do these problems and issues exist?
How does history explain why this community looks and operates as it does?
What assets exist in this person’s support system?
For this presentation you will be required to incorporate at least 25 sociological terms directly from the text and class lectures. These terms will be underlined throughout the presentations and explained in the student’s own words.

Research a single author. If you choose this option, I am asking you to delve more deeply than
we’ve been able to do so far into the life and work of one author known for their contribution to
Holocaust literature and develop an argument about the significance of this individual and their
work. Your paper should include both biographical information about the author and their
experience during (or in relation to) the Holocaust, and analysis of the author’s published work,
situating, to the extent possible, whatever was assigned for this class in the context of their full
