Introduction to a Quality Action Plan

• This session will include an introduction on action planning. An action plan is a well-defined description of a goal to be achieved.

• An Action Plan covers specific changes that need to be done and specific action steps that are needed to bring changes to the organization.

• Information on action planning and items to include in the plan will be reviewed.

• In addition, open dialogue is welcome, and samples will be included in the presentation.

ACTION PLAN• For the SRP, you will write a narrative to support the steps of the Action

Plan. This section should be around 10-15 pages in length. Check with your faculty member for guidance.

• Note: An academic paragraph length should be at least five (5) strong sentences with more than one source.

• The narrative should be supported with at least 15 scholarly sources/references. Again, check with your

faculty member for guidance.

• The steps will be provided to you to help and

guide you through the process. And each step

should be supported with the current literature.

Steps of the Action Plan

1. ACTION STEPS– Different steps that you will need to follow in order to implement the strategy. Your goals will be covered here – around four (4).

2. TIMELINE – You need a clear plan to what you want to achieve in this potential implementation. Create a timeline for each action step. The timeline should take place with your organization´s fiscal year (e.g., July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023).

3. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Select the right people to accomplish the right things in the right way. In this section, you will explain the role and responsibilities of each person in this action plan.

4. RESOURCES – Write about the resources and support that you will need to make the changes that your organization will need during your potential implementation. You need to include both, what is needed and what is available.

5. ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT – Describe your collaborators or stakeholders of the organization that can potentially support the implementation.

6. BARRIERS OR RESISTANCE – Identify potential barriers or resistance that you may encounter in the process of implementation. Write a plan to overcome them.

7. EVALUATION – Explain how you would evaluate your progress while in route to your goals.
