Introduction
A merger is a corporate deal that joins two organizations into a single, new one. Usually, the two merging businesses are about the same size. Following the
merger, the two businesses are no longer owned and run independently. They are all owned by one organization. While a corporate transaction known as an
acquisition occurs when one firm buys out the whole ownership of another company. The firm being acquired will dissolve and stop existing after the
transaction. All of the purchased company’s assets and liabilities will be assumed by the new owner of the business.
For this assignment, students will demonstrate their ability to evaluate and analyze a case of a merger or acquisition that has taken place in Saudi Arabia.
Case study objectives
1. Companies Background: provide an overview of both companies’ history and background.
2. Opportunities and causes: provide an overview of the opportunities and causes of this merger and acquisition.
3. Merger or acquisition strategies: explain how the merger or acquisition was structured.
4. The difficulties that the merger or acquisition faced: identify the factors affecting mergers and acquisitions.
5. Mergers or acquisitions financing: explain how the merger or acquisition was financed.
6. Explain the enhancement to the Saudi economy that resulted from this merger or acquisition.
7. Recommendation and conclusion

1. Group Work: form a group of between 3 to 4 students
