Some standards are established by law and, as such, require adherence. Other standards, such as those stipulated for accreditation or recommended by professional organizations, are voluntary. Adherence is often linked to reimbursement. The faculty member and the professional development specialist must be aware of all applicable standards and must consider them in the design of curriculum. -Select one source of regulatory, accreditation or professional standards, from the list below or from your own practice, which impacts the design of curriculums in higher education or health care delivery organizations. -Review the set of standards in its entirety. -Provide a BRIEF summary of the standards in each of the following categories, as applicable.
