Regardless of a missing X or Y chromosome, males and females remain biologically different. From the beginning, the human body secretes hormones that shape our body and minds, and those levels change when regarding the sex of a person. It’s why, when a person is transitioning from one sex to another, they require hormone treatments. Sometimes, as in the case of the Reimer twins, those hormones aren’t enough because the individual understands that they’re different physically. What occurred to David Reimer is a clear indication that there’s a distinction between males and females.
