Realism vs. Idealism: For this paper, answer the question of whether you believe it is better to be realistic or idealistic when approaching the challenges we
face in 2023? Realists–as embodied by Niccolò Machiavelli–believe we must approach the world as it “really is,” even if that means getting ahead by lying,
cheating, or other bad behavior. Idealists–as embodied by Plato–believe we should reach for lofty ideals even if we can’t attain them.
