Paper about 2 Corinthians

This is the second part of my order . The first part was the order (82087835 ). This second order is connected to the first paper. The Research Paper, Second part, 4-5 pages: On the same paragraph of Scripture, read the commentaries, and online journal articles and whatever other research is available to you. [“Google” and online blogs do not constitute master’s level research.] What problems or concerns do your sources address that you did not know or expect? Try also to find articles in the library (including on-line) on your Scripture text. You may find that the scholarly sources have different concerns than you noted. Do not be alarmed. Your task in the first paper was to find the obvious; and researchers normally have a different task. This second paper should reflect the scholars’ concerns. It is appropriate to compare the findings of your first paper with the findings of this research paper.

Some comments from the teacher about the last article.

The paper’s organization is good, and generally well written.

But you have some peculiar translations: “grace to you and prosperity”? (p3)

Paul wishes them “grace and responsibility”? (p4)

Troubles are “outside pressures”? Outside of what? Paul had troubles fears and despair inside himself, he had troubles from churches, and from the world. Why did you add “outside?”

You say that Paul emphasized the title of apostle. But he uses that in almost all of his letters. How is it emphatic here?

“[Only mature believers] share sufferings”? Do immature believers not suffer? Why did you add only mature believers?

These are all assumptions you got from somewhere, but not in 2 Cor 1:1-7. The whole point of this paper was to read the Scripture carefully, to notice what it says. This paper does much of that, but it also has these instances of assuming what is not said, and not supplying any reason for it. That is just what this paper was NOT to do.

Your introduction says that 2 Cor 1:1-7 has a negative tone, and shows that Paul was not happy with the Corinthian church. It says these verses show that the letter is a warning to that church. But I cannot find anything in the first 7 verses to say any of that. The first 2 verses are standard, as you observe, same in all letters. And v3 begins with praise to God for all his comfort and encouragement. It is true that vv3-7 speak of Paul’s troubles and suffering. But he sounds grateful to God through it all, not negative. And there is nothing to indicate that the Corinthians are part of the problem, or that they have caused the suffering. Rather they join him in having troubles and suffering. We find out some of this later in the letter, that is true. But you chose to read 1:1-7, and these things are not there.
