You work for Happy Wilson, a popular stand-up comedian based in Los Angeles. Mr. Wilson wants to create a variety show featuring comedians, clowns, acrobats, and performing monkeys. Ideally, Mr. Wilson will host five shows next year, all in California, in front of live audiences. Before Mr. Wilson submits his variety show proposal to investors, he wants to know whether the California Fish and Game Code imposes any requirements or limitations on his plan. He knows that having performing monkeys may upset animal rights activists, but he thinks the monkeys will draw a big crowd. If Mr. Wilson is not permitted to have monkeys, he wants to know if he’s allowed to have other types of animals perform in the show. If he were to use monkeys regardless of the rules, Mr. Wilson wants to know if there are any penalties. Lastly, if Mr. Wilson is not permitted to have monkeys in his current variety show format, he wants to know if there is any workaround to be able to take a stage with a monkey.
