Examine a legal case in depth that exemplifies multiple aspects of forensic psychology. This can be any court case, but it must involve at least five (5) elements of forensic psychology that we have covered in this course. These elements might include expert testimony from psychologists, profiling, etc. For the paper, you will:
1) Summarize the case
a) Give details about the people involved, the incident/event, the investigation(s), the proceedings, the outcome, any follow-up information
2) Discuss the elements of forensic psychology that were important in the proceedings
a) Outline the elements that were central to the case – was expert testimony a factor?
Were there police/public safety psychologists or issues involved?
3) Incorporate additional literature in discussing these elements
a) In each discussion, pull in a piece of evidence from the psychological literature. For example, if eyewitness testimony was a key factor in the case, what does research tell us about that?
