I grew up in a household with both of my parents that were married, at the age of 6 my father committed suicide, and my mother remarried, I lived in a household with my sister and two stepbrothers, but my grandmother helped raise me and my sister so I also lived in her household with 4 of my uncles and my cousins in low-income housing. Both of my grandmothers were from Alabama and migrated here but my grandmother on my mother side never worked, she took care of everything in the household and my grandfather worked in a factory plant. My grandmother on my father side worked in a plant and his father did also. I spent most of the time at my grandmother’s house on my mother side.
