Case: HBC: From Fur to Fendi
1. Apply figure 10.3 to discuss the relationship between HBC’s mission and its stakeholders. Identify HBC’s primary stakeholders and their specific demands.
2. Using the information in the case (and your own knowledge of HBC from visits) conduct a current SWOT analysis for HBC.
3. Porter’s Five Forces Model is used to analyze the intensity of competition in an industry. Conduct a Porter’s Five Forces Analysis using figure 10.5. Rank the forces as weak, moderate, or strong. Provide a conclusion on the level of rivalry in the industry.
4. Using figures 10.6 and 10.7, identify and explain the corporate and business level strategies HBC is using currently.
