With more than 7 Billion people living outside this nation, and the world’s population expected to climb to about 10 billion or more before the end of the 21st century (Hans Rosling), how should we now define “fairness” and “equality”? If the United States’ population is about 328 Million people and is expected to stay roughly around there, while the other side of the globe grows from roughly 4.5 billion now in Asia and 1.3 billion in Africa now to 5 billion in Asia and 4 billion in Africa by the end of this century — for a total of 9 billion on the OTHER side of the planet before 2100 (that is, during your lifetime), how should Americans define “equality”? In a thesis-driven essay of five or more paragraphs, argue how Americans should now consider “equality” and “fairness,” now that we live in a globalized world challenged by many globalized issues. Argue which people are “equal” and for what purpose? What is expected of “free” people, especially in a time when at least one billion people in the world today are unlikely to live at the level of most Americans, even the poorest among us in the United States?
