Analysing current data mining practices

In this assignment, you will analyze current data mining practices and evaluate the pros and cons of data mining. Provide one example of a company that has successfully practiced data mining and discuss why they were successful. Then, research a company that experienced a failed data mining practice. What data mining best practices could they have implemented to avoid this failure?

In your paper,

Discuss the industry standards for data mining best practices.
Identify pitfalls in data mining, including practices that should be avoided.
Provide an example of company that has successfully practiced data mining. What steps and precautions did they take to ensure the success of their data mining endeavor? How did they keep customer data safe?
In a second example, research a company that experienced a failed data mining experience. What pitfalls did the organization fall into? What would you have done differently?

Useful data in assessing for quality control.

Imagine that you have been hired as a quality control data analyst. The company you have been hired for has experienced a decline in their sales numbers. The CEO speculates that there may be some areas for improvement in their quality control practices. You have a strong background in data analytics, but you know little about quality control practices. As a data analyst, you need to determine some key data points that will assist you in identifying any problem areas in the quality control process.

In your paper,

Identify data that you believe would be useful in assessing for quality control.
Discuss your strategy for identifying key data points, including the type of data you gather and where you will look to find this data.
Determine the best way to present this data, considering data visualization tools we examined in Week 2.
Summarize how you would go about creating a quality control proposal for this company. What are some of the key points you would consider for quality control?

Factoring

This week we continue our study of factoring. As you become more familiar with factoring, you will notice there are some special factoring problems that follow specific patterns. These patterns are known as:

a difference of squares;
a perfect square trinomial;
a difference of cubes; and
a sum of cubes.
Choose two of the forms above and explain the pattern that allows you to recognize the binomial or trinomial as having special factors. Illustrate with examples of a binomial or trinomial expression that may be factored using the special techniques you are explaining.

The different components of the proposed database design

Throughout this activity, we will explore the different components of the proposed database design in detail, considering the benefits and drawbacks of different approaches and drawing on academic research to support our arguments.

In 600 words,

Instructions:

  1. Begin by conducting research on database design and healthcare databases. Look for academic sources that discuss best practices in database design and healthcare data management.
  2. Next, develop an outline for a proposed database design. This should include a description of the Patient table and its fields, as well as the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Outcome tables and their respective fields. Be sure to consider any relationships between these tables, such as foreign keys or other constraints.
  3. Create your proposal, and your proposal should include:

o An introduction that explains the purpose of your proposed database design and provides some background information on the importance of effective database design in healthcare.

o A detailed description of your proposed database design, including a discussion of the Patient, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Outcome tables, their fields, and any relationships between them.

o A discussion of the benefits and drawbacks of your proposed design, including any potential issues that may arise from implementation.

o A conclusion that summarizes the key points of your proposal and emphasizes the importance of effective database design in healthcare.

Exploring and understanding the barriers that will lead to more effective policy outcomes.

Six months ago, large amounts of funds were allocated to temporary shelters for people who are homeless in your county. However, a recent county data report indicated that people who are homeless are still sleeping in their cars or in parks. You are the lead researcher in the county’s office and are aware that the question calls for qualitative research methodology. You are tasked with exploring and understanding the barriers that will lead to more effective policy outcomes. You believe a qualitative descriptive study to be a justifiable approach to this topic. How would you make sure that your data sources are in alignment with your problem, purpose, and research questions? Explain.
