Banning abortion after 6 weeks Pregnancy and Parenting Support in Florida

The purpose of the Political Advocacy Paper is to familiarize you with an in-depth understanding of the political process and a specific area of interest to you. You will identify proposed legislation that is or was under consideration during the 2020-2022 Florida Legislative Session, United States Legislative Session or the Legislative Session from your state. This legislation should pertain to social issues or policy concerns and reflect one of the “areas as legislative and advocacy issues” outlined in the NASW-FL 2021-22 Legislative Agenda
In order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in the legislative process, you should consult legislators’ websites, voting records, newspaper articles, and media reports. Many organizations and special interest groups have websites that describe their ideological positions, outline these positions on various policy issues and political agendas, and provide key strategies for advocacy.
From the prospective of social policy advocate, students will provide a written report that describes the findings from their research:
-Description of the proposed legislation and the intent of the legislation
-Identification of Bill’s sponsor(s) and in-depth review of findings regarding the legislator(s) political position, legislative support, and opposition.
-Identification of coalitions, special interest groups, and organizations and in-depth review of findings regarding their positions.
– Analysis of the influential power of both support and opposition positions and potential of either passage or defeat of the bill.

Silver Lining Playbook Clinical Analysis

Watch the movie Silver Lining Playbook (I have attached a link)
Write up a case summary/case history for Bradley Coopers character Pat Solitano (I have attached an example of what a case summary/case history should look like. Use the Tony case summary/case history as an example ) and then answer these questions below:
1.) What are the key developmental or historical factors in this case study that are critical for a proper bio-psycho-social assessment? Why are these factors critical?
2) What is known about Pats mental status from the narrative provided? What is not known? What are three critical pieces of information that are missing and must be ascertained regarding mental status in order to formulate an accurate assessment and effective treatment plan for Pat?
3.) What are your primary concerns about this client? Why?
4.) What are the critical factors presented in this case study that are relevant to formulating a proper diagnosis for this client?
5.) What is your diagnosis? Do you have a differential diagnosis? If so, what is it or what are they and why? (For this part, write/format it the exact way that i did in the example i have uploaded titled “Diagnosis Paper.” I believe Pats diagnosis is going to be a biploar disorder, make sure to also note the specifics of the diagnosis as you will see in the DSM. Make sure to look at the DSM-5-TR when writing this section. Also, make sure for the differential diagnosis that you are choosing ones that are very similar to the actual diagnosis and explaining your reasoning as to why it isn’t the diagnosis
6.) What would be your treatment recommendations for this client? Be specific- as if you were producing a formal treatment plan? Write about the therapy that you will use and what the formal treatment plan of what you will be doing and working on with Pat as if you were seeing him as a client and you are therapist.
7.) Would you recommend any interdisciplinary involvement or intervention? What type(s) and why?
8.) What factors would you consider in determining what type of theoretical or treatment approach to take with Tony? What approach or theoretical orientation would you utilize and why?
9.) What would you keep in mind when thinking about engagement with this client in the early phase of treatment? What do you believe would be an effective approach to engaging this client and why?
10.) What are your thoughts regarding transference and countertransference with Tony? How may these thoughts or concerns effect or “play out” in his treatment? Would these considerations be beneficial or potentially damaging to the treatment and why?
11.) Would you like to work with this client? Why or why not? What feelings were elicited in you while reading this narrative?

5 approaches to change in Netting

1. There are 5 approaches to change in Netting text Chapter 10. Give your own working definition, and then an example of each that likely would apply to the community you selected for your Small Group Community Analysis assignment.
1. Policy
2. Program
3. Project
4. Personnel
5. Practice

2. Identify and generate your own working definition of the three strategies of community intervention in the Netting Text Chapter 10. Choose one strategy you might use to achieve one of the approach-based goals you have identified above. Then link one example of a tactic that would be appropriate to promote change in a specific situation in the community that you selected in your Small Group Community Analysis assignment, based on your choice of strategy.

Policy Memo Assessment

Policy memos are different than research papers. The purpose of a policy memo is to help a specific audience understanding the rationale for choosing a specific course of action. Memos are designed for non-academic audiences, geared toward the needs of the audience, and synthesize research in a way that results in you advocating for a specific type of change or action. A good policy memo will usually have the following characteristics:
Short, focused, and to the point without excessive explanations
Specific, clear and professionally written
Avoids academic or disciplinary jargon
Points are clearly supported by evidence that show consequences of each alternative
Visually appealing and clearly organized with clear and descriptive headings and subheadings, use of capitalization, bold text, bulleted items, etc.
Practical and feasible recommendations that are likely to occur and don’t seem unrealistic
Explicit and honest in describing strengths and weaknesses of your recommendations

For this discussion, please share with us the effects that alcohol has on the brain and include a reflection (pros and cons) about the prevention program mentioned below. Excessive alcohol consumption has been shown to significantly affect the brain, including impairments in cognitive function, memory, and mood regulation. You should also consider the impact of individual differences in alcohol sensitivity, such as genetic factors, gender, and age, on alcohol’s effects on the brain.
Your submission should demonstrate a deep understanding of the neurobiology of alcohol and its effects on the brain, as well as your ability to evaluate and synthesize complex scientific literature critically.
Some examples of what you may want to research for this submission:
Blackouts
Wernicke-Karsakoff Syndrome
Aging/Grey Matter
Memory
Or choose a specific area of the brain affected by alcohol consumption and write on the effects of alcohol on that area.
Prevention Program: School Health and Alcohol Harm Reduction Project- SHAHRP This program was developed by the National Drug Research Institute and is aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm and risky consumption practices (Positive Choices 2022). The program is conducted over two years, beginning in 8th grade. It uses a variety of teaching methods to engage students. Its benefits include reducing alcohol consumption, delayed and reduced growth rate of alcohol use, reduced binge drinking, reduced alcohol-related harms, increased alcohol knowledge, and promoted safer alcohol-related knowledge (Positive Choices 2022).

Significant Events and Group Stages

Part I: Overall group development and the mutual aid process (Significant Events and Group Stages)
Describe how your group used components of mutual aid throughout the life of the group, from planning to termination. Provide specific examples from select group meetings to highlight your examples. Then discuss three significant events that occurred in the group sessions (i.e. a conflict, a powerful moment or transition point in the group) and what you learned from each.
Discuss the stages that took place in your group and what you learned about group stages that you can apply to future group work. How did your group change from the beginning/middle/ending stages of the group? What did you notice during the life of the group as your group moved through these stages of group development? How did the stages of your group development impact mutual aid? What do you feel were some specific turning points in your group during this exercise that moved your group from the beginning/middle/ending stages? What tools were used to evaluate your group during this process?
Part II: Individual reflection (Group Leadership and Group Membership)
1. While you were the group leader, what do you feel went well? What was your plan for leading your group, and what informed your plan? What would you do differently if you were leading the group again? As a group facilitator, what do you feel you learned about yourself during this process? What do you feel you learned about yourself from being a group member in this exercise? What were the benefits and challenges of being a group member and group leader using an online platform?
2. How did your thoughts/feelings change from the first group session to the last group session?
3. Did you feel your individual and group goals were met during this process? Why or why not?
4. What did you find most helpful and least helpful about this overall group experience?
5. Why is this learning important for you as a group social worker?
6. What was your overall experience with this group experience? What did you learn? How will this inform your practice in the future?
7. How was this model of mutual aid different from other models of group work, and what might you do differently as a result of this learning in your future practice?
