Explain at least three ways, in detail, that a digital forensic practitioner can display their ethical practices and understanding of ethics in the profession.
Nurse scholars have claimed that nursing is both a discipline and a profession. In order to understand these claims, we must first know what it means for nursing to have a “unique body of knowledge.” If we assume that nursing does, indeed, possess a unique body of knowledge, we can claim that nursing is a “basic science” rather than an “applied science.” Despite these claims, debate continues about nursing as discipline, profession, and science. Is nursing a discipline? A profession? Is nursing a basic science and/or applied science? In your initial post, state what you think about nursing as discipline, profession, and science. Explore the literature beyond that assigned to you for this week’s readings to help you formulate your position. You should include the following:
What is a discipline? What is a profession? What’s the difference? What are examples of each?
Does nursing fit the criteria for a “discipline” and “profession”?
What is a “basic science”? What is an “applied science”? What’s the difference?
Is nursing a “basic” or “applied” science?
Support your statements with scholarly references. You may use those from the assigned readings for this module, but you must also select and use (via your literature search) a minimum of one scholarly reference outside of assigned readings in your initial post.
Present your posts and replies in a professional, scholarly manner. Use the APA publication manual to format citations and references.
When discussing and evaluating professional ethics, it is essential to understand the purpose, terminology, and repercussions of professional misconduct. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) code of professional conduct is the gold standard for defining professional conduct in accounting; it is therefore important for business professionals to be familiar with. In this discussion, you will explore one principle in depth and discuss it and others with your peers.
First, select one of the following principles of professional conduct to examine in the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct document:
Responsibilities
Public interest
Integrity
Objectivity and independence
Due care
Scope and nature of services
Then, for your initial post, reflect on what appropriate practice of your selected principle would look like in the field, and also on some potential examples of violations of the principle. Use the following questions to help guide your reflections:
How would you define and describe your selected principle in your own words?
What value does the principle bring to practitioners, businesses, and clients?
What is an example of a difficult situation that a practitioner may face related to your selected principle, and what would an ethical response to the situation be? Why might a practitioner be tempted to, or accidentally, not take an ethical course of action?
Select an article of a high-profile event that discusses how the failure of ethical leadership impacted the company. Select an article that discusses corporate culture and governance of the company or business organization.
Use the Unit II Template , and include the following information.
Explain the corporate culture and/or governance of the company or business organization.
Explain the failure(s) of ethical leadership in the company that lead to the event.
Discuss ways the failure might have been avoided.
Discuss the different categories of unethical police behavior and provide an example of each.
Nurses face many types of ethical issues.
· Describe an ethical situation you have witnessed or potentially could experience within your nursing practice.
· Compare two ethics concepts discussed in week 2 content.
· Describe an ethical theory or principle that could guide you in this process.
Complete the following:
Discuss your understanding of the duties of a probation officer.
List and discuss three ethical dilemmas faced by probation officers.
Discuss three ways probation officers can avoid those dilemmas.
Choose three codes of ethics, and in your own words, explain why you feel these are important.
In medical settings, social workers may face ethical dilemmas around testing, initiating or withholding treatment, disclosing of diagnoses, and more. Ethical dilemmas may also arise from religious or cultural point of views. When children are involved, it is possible that dilemmas will arise between the children and their parents or between parents and the medical team. When faced with ethical dilemmas, medical social workers must rely on the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, as well as ethical reasoning.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review this week’s resources. Think about one childhood or adolescent illness. Consider an ethical issue that could present itself during the care of a child or adolescent.
In a 3- to 4-page paper:
Briefly describe the illness you selected.
Explain an ethical issue involving a child or adolescent in the context of the illness. Be sure to explain all sides of the ethical dilemma.
Explain your ethical responsibilities in adherence with the professional ethical standards applicable to the clinical situation. Be sure to justify your response citing the NASW Code of Ethics
Ethical dilemmas are those where there is neither an easy answer nor a decision that is absolutely the right one. Healthcare professionals must deal with these challenges based on their training and knowledge of ethical principles and decision making. Choose an ethical dilemma from the list below and answer the questions that follow. Use your knowledge and understanding from what you have already learned from Unit 1 and 2 lessons and the textbook reading assignments.
Genetic testing and home test kits
Physician-assisted death
Artificial intelligence and clinical decision making
Organ transplantation and artificial organs
Note: If you would like to choose a dilemma other than one on the list, please consult with your instructor and obtain permission.
Describe the issue and why and how it poses an ethical dilemma for healthcare providers and healthcare organizations?
What ethical principle(s) would be applicable to the dilemma?
Describe the ethical decision-making steps used to come to an ethical decision? With whom would a healthcare professional consult in coming to a decision?
How are your personal values challenged? What would be a personal bias or conflict of interest in resolving this dilemma?
