The U.S. food stamp program—today known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)—was developed during the presidencies of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Its purpose is to increase the food budgets of low-income individuals and families, resulting in better nutrition.

Imagine you are working with a client who wishes to receive SNAP benefits. How would you help him or her navigate the eligibility requirements? What could be a barrier to your client gaining these benefits? For this Discussion, you explore SNAP in greater detail and determine what you might change to facilitate a better client experience.

The degree to which your health care organization must adhere to guidelines of the ACA may affect the extent of the type of health care services offered, the types of patients served by your facility, and how health care costs are maintained. As a current or future health care executive, you must consider how to balance operations of your health care organization within the context of the ACA and in providing high-quality, low-cost health care.

For this Discussion, review the resources for this week. Search for the cost of implementing the ACA for a health care organization in your state. Reflect on the benefits of implementing the ACA for a health care organization in your state. How might your health care organization, or one with which you are familiar, be affected by ACA mandates?

A Restaurant have an interest in creating a new grading system for their customers with a new application. This is critical as the restaurant wants to delivery high standard satisfaction outcomes to improve and standardize the quality of the service they deliver and to have the possibility to partnership with other restaurants in the region. The new system ideally should assess fairly the waiters and waitresses, the cooks, and the suppliers. • Analyze the main clients and stakeholders (restaurants, customers, suppliers) and build a research method to assess the actual picture of satisfaction of all stockholders. This method will assess the new grading system as soon as the project is put into practice in the restaurant. • Identify and prepare the information to convince your boss that your project makes sense, and it is necessary to put into practice. The use of antibacterial products in hospitals and medical facilities is a necessary and common practice in order to prevent the transmission of disease-causing microorganisms. We have seen an increase in the use of these products, such as antibacterial hand soaps, hand sanitizers, antimicrobial wipes and cleaning sprays, and even dishwashing liquids in healthy households.

For your initial post, provide examples of household products that contain antimicrobial compounds and share the potential benefits as well as any potential harm they could cause with overuse. Do you think daily and frequent use of these types of products within a healthy home is a good idea? Should the FDA have banned the marketing of antibacterial ingredients such as triclosan and triclocarban in the majority of household products? After your research, do you think you will increase or decrease your use of these types of products in your home?
