In the last two videos, Disney corporate officers discuss several aspects of organizational strategy about the launch of Disney+ and the landscape in 2021 Disney must navigate in a Covid-impacted entertainment world. Choose one of the corporate strategies discussed in the text, explain the strategy and explain why you think they are Disney is using this strategy. Incorporate the questions below into your answer. Please note: I am not looking for your personal strategy. I am looking for you to use one of the strategies that is discussed in the text.

Essay: Overcoming Challenges through Power and Influence in Organizational Settings
Goal of exercise: Critical reflection on the topic of power and influence as applied to a concrete situation from your work-life. Power and influence in organizations is about overcoming obstacles and setbacks. It is important to integrate what we have learned about this in class into your own life experiences. Write a brief (approx.. two page) essay in which you: Describe an organizational situation in which you faced substantial difficulty (for example, you were fired (not laid off, fired), you were demoted, you failed to get a job or a promotion you wanted and thought you deserved, you were embarrassed or lost face because of some situation, etc.).
What did you do that contributed to the problems you experienced? To what extent were the obstacles and difficulties the result of chance events over which you had no control? Based on the course material, what would you do differently if you encountered the same situation today? In other words, what is the learning or what are the ideas that have emerged in the class that you would use to help you in similar situations?
Persuasive Essay: Strategies for Influencing Difficult Decision-Makers
Goal of exercise: Apply the ideas we have read/discussed around social influence to a concrete situation you face. Is there a person or group/organization whom you need to influence but will be/or is difficult to influence? (For example, I would like to influence my department head to rethink how he evaluates relative performance within the department (currently, it is too research-focused).) Think through the social influence strategies discussed in class (Pfeffer’s; Cialdini’s) and outline how you would arrange to maximize the chances of you influencing the person you wish to influence.
Make sure you ground your analysis and recommendations in class discussion and readings; off the cuff opinions are rarely persuasive.
The Importance of Objectivity in Reporting
Maintaining objectivity is important in reporting. Different factors, including the style of communication, level of emotions, biases, and personal believes, however, can influence the reporting process.
