1. How has digital and social media have changed the employee selection process?
2.What advice you would give an employer about avoiding problems with using such tools for selection?
3.What advice would you give to a prospective employee?
Organizations offer all kinds of benefits to employees today. In principle, great health insurance would be most attractive to employees with medical conditions, those with families, and those who plan for better retirement benefits.
What else might a company include in its benefits package to appeal to new employees?
How might the company structure its benefits package so that these employees can take advantage of the benefits they care about most?
Finally, which of these benefits most appeal to you and why?
Few organizations are known to be prepared for the future changes in the industry landscape. The same observation is true of top companies where a small number of employees are said to be prepared to fill internal executive and management positions in their organization. In addition, nearly half of these organizations say that they have qualified staff to take on leadership roles effectively. With this scenario, address the following:
What competitive advantage could a skilled HR manager deliver in an organization that is committed to improving its talent management?
How can HR managers collaborate with top management and operations in general to achieve this innovative competitive edge?
Imagine you work as an HR professional for the company you selected in the first assignment in Week 3. The company has been having issues with their current performance evaluation process. Some of the issues include the data collection process, proper documentation, and making appropriate decisions on employee performance. Your manager has asked you to evaluate and update their current performance evaluation process and present it as a training module to a group of new supervisors in your organization. Apply the revised or improved evaluation process to the specific job you created in the Week 3 assignment. Note that your manager has asked you to present the new process in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
Instructions
Based on what you know about performance evaluations, use the Strayer Library or the Internet to research and select a performance evaluation tool that you believe is best suited for your company. Create a PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes to present this new tool to new supervisors. In your presentation:
Explain the benefits of using performance evaluations.
Assess the existing performance evaluation used in the organization.
Create a sample of the performance evaluation tool you selected for your company.
Justify the selection of the performance evaluation tool.
Develop a detailed, step-by-step description of the evaluation process.
The sponsor of the project has reviewed your scope definition (goals, objectives, project structure, and stakeholders) and has approved it. However, the sponsor would like to see an improvement in communication between the project team and the stakeholders. See Chapter 4 in the course textbook. Ask the instructor for clarification if needed.
The sponsor has also requested a project schedule be developed immediately to track and coordinate the progress of the remaining tasks for the project.
Note: Use MS Project or another scheduling software of your choice. Ask the instructor for additional options for developing a project schedule.
Instructions
Develop a communication plan between the project team and the stakeholders for your project.

You are the HR director who supervises 18 professionals. You have a great team who generally works well together, which allows you to be a hands-off director. They often work late hours and work closely together. You have hired Richard to be a new administrative support employee to help the team with their clerical workload. You learn through various employee complaints that one of the professionals on your team appears to be acting inappropriately toward the new employee. Diane, a manager and the team lead, is witnessed making harassing remarks about the “young new guy” and how he dresses and looks. These comments are not overt sexual harassment, and Richard has not made any complaints; in fact, he seems to laugh it off in staff meetings. There are two other employees who have complained that Diane’s behavior is negatively affecting the team. There are even claims that she has been seen touching and grabbing Richard when they are working closely together. As the HR director, how do you address the situation? What steps do you take to address the problem? Be as specific and detailed as possible. What policies do you reference? Provide a detailed, step-by-step plan for any communication and discipline. Make sure you describe how and to whom you need to communicate your information, and respond to the prompts below.
What are some best practices in employee communications that you can use in this scenario?
What tools can you use to communicate your information to the employees and the organization as a whole?
Explain how you can use appropriate discipline to effectively manage the employee’s behavior.
Explain the steps that you would take in both progressive and punitive discipline programs.
