Cultural Differences and Traveling Nurses: Analyzing Ethical Issues

write a three-page analysis paper. Your objective is to critically analyze the ethical issue and reflect on the larger psychological literature base by integrating at least two peer-reviewed empirical journal articles that are related to the ethical issue in the paper. It must be an ethical issue included in one of the textbook chapters listed below, but other than that the ethical issue topic is open to you. My original plan was to write about ethical conflicts that arise with traveling nurses experiencing cultural differences. There was a lot of research to support that topic, but my schedule didn’t permit me to dive deep into research. If you find an ethical topic included in the provided chapters that you are more comfortable and confident writing about, please feel free. Otherwise, I thought it would be helpful to provide my ideas!

The paper must include thorough, two paragraph summary of the provided ethical issue that:

  1. Clearly describes the ethical issue
  2. Summarizes the relevant section(s) of the APA Ethics Code that address the provided ethical issue
  3. Identifies potential harm to the public and/or the profession (e.g., patients,
students, other professionals) associated with the ethical issue you selected
  4. Discusses ways in which the provided ethical issue can either be prevented
    and/or effectively addressed

The paper must also include:

  1. Two paragraphs that concisely summarize the two peer-reviewed empirical articles that address the selected ethical issue.
  2. One paragraph discussing your reaction(s) to the ethical issue and the two journal articles that you selected (e.g., what you found interesting about this particular ethical issue; why you feel this ethical issue is especially relevant to psychological practice; what surprised you about the articles, etc.). This paragraph can (and should) be written in the first-person (i.e., it is okay to use “I”).
Please only use chapters 1, 2, 5, 17, & 18 of the textbook as a resource and cite all sources in APA format.

Free speech, trolls, and disinformation campaigns

After reviewing the Study Materials for this module on free speech, trolls, and disinformation campaigns, consider your own experience online. Have you or
someone you know ever had an experience with challenging online phenomena like trolling, cyber-hate speech, or disinformation campaigns? Who do you
think should be responsible for overseeing the web—individuals, online communities, corporations, governments, or international coalitions?
Choose one of the themes discussed in The Future of Free Speech,Trolls, Anonymity, and Fake News Online and, in a paper of 500 to 750 words
(approximately 2 to 3 pages), develop a policy to address the issues raised by your selected theme. Discuss steps that individuals, online communities,
scholars, corporations, governments, and/or international coalitions can take to successfully address the issues. Support your analysis with one or more of
the ethical frameworks (utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics, social justice and social contract theory). Use properly cited evidence from the Study
Materials to support your points.

Ethical perspectives work in real-world scenarios

Imagine that individuals within the community action group are meeting to share the social issue they have chosen and the ethical perspective they might use as they consider solutions. Some tensions have popped up in the action group. Your community action small group consists of five people. Two members of the group are highly engaged and seem to work well together. One member of the group, however, is controlling and wants to push their ideas and perspectives on other members of the group. Another member of the group is going through some difficult personal challenges and is not able to participate as much as he would like. Finally, one male team member keeps interrupting a female team member when she shares ideas with the rest of the group.
Complete Parts 1 and 2 below.
Part 1
Identify how someone with each ethical perspective listed in the first column would approach the group and individual members in this scenario by answering the questions in the remaining columns.
Ethical Perspective- Deontology (Ethics of Duty):
1. Based on this ethical perspective, what are the needs of the group in the scenario?
2. How would someone with this ethical perspective perceive and address the controlling group member?
3. How would someone with this ethical perspective perceive and address the group member dealing with personal challenges?
4. How would someone with this ethical perspective perceive and address the male group member that keeps interrupting the female team member?
Ethical Perspective- Rights Ethics:

4. How would someone with this ethical perspective perceive and address the male group member that keeps interrupting the female team member?
Part 2
Write a 350- to 700-word analysis of the ways the ethical perspectives presented can impact real-world scenarios, particularly in the workplace:
• Explain how the different ethical perspectives work in real-world scenarios.
• Briefly describe a situation that has happened in your life or that you are familiar with where you experienced or were told about these ethical perspectives.
o In this situation, explain how the needs of the individual can be balanced with the needs of the larger group.
• Explain the benefits, as well as any downfalls, of these ethical perspectives.

Reproductive Rights

Reproductive rights revolve around an individual’s right to determine whether and when they want to have children. In 1973, the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade established the legal right to abortion; however, states continue to battle over legislation related to reproductive care. In 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed which expanded women’s access to contraception. Many people consider reproductive rights an issue of bodily autonomy. Consider the ethical and moral aspects related to making decisions about this social issue (Status of Women in the States, n.d.).
Consider how the ethical theories would consider the social issue you’ve selected. Think about what specific aspects of the issue would be relevant to decision-making process for each ethical perspective.

Legalized Marijuana

The legal status for medical and recreational marijuana varies greatly from state to state. As of 2021, approximately half of the states legalized both medical and recreational marijuana, while others only allow for medical use. As of 2022, marijuana use is still completely illegal in four states. These laws require a variety of considerations, such as the need for pre-employment drug screenings, access to marijuana by minors, incidents involving driving under the influence, and more. Consider the ethical and moral aspects related to making decisions about this social issue.

COVID-19 Vaccine and Mask Mandates

In 2021, President Biden issued a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for companies with over 100 employees. This resulted in lawsuits in some states, and many people walked off the job because they did not agree with the mandate. Similar disagreements took place regarding mask mandates in schools and small businesses. Consider the ethical and moral aspects related to making decisions about this social issue.

Ethical issues and concern

Dr. Jamison has joined a group practice of psychologists who have asked her to develop her biography to post with her picture on their social media page. They have asked Dr. Jamison to reach out to her former clients from her last employer to solicit testimonials. Dr. Jamison is very concerned about this request. She was unaware the group practice had a social media page. When she visits the page, she sees several client testimonials for other psychologists in practice, some of which appear to reveal identifying information about the clients.

Describe the ethical issues involved in this situation.
Discuss the steps Dr. Jamison should take with regard to her discovery of potential ethical concerns.
Provide recommendations for the group’s advertising needs that would meet ethical standards.
Use three scholarly sources to support your claims.

Ethical-decision making models

For this Discussion Board, please complete the following:

You are a manager at a baby formula manufacturing facility. There are global supply chain issues which are impacting the availability of raw materials and a rapid increase in demand is preventing your company from fulfilling customer orders. There is not enough inventory in stock to provide the product to all of your customers, which include some major supermarkets and smaller stores in your region. Utilizing current production standards, it would be at least 45 days before you can ramp up production to meet the demand. Your production team comes to you with the suggestion that the company decrease the quality of the baby formula to meet demand. Given the limited inventory and the high demand, there are decisions that you have to make as a manager regarding the quality and supply distribution of the product.

Using ethical-decision making models, answer the following questions:

As a manager how would you decide how to divide the available supply of product among the various customers?
Would you alter the production method to get the product on the market sooner although it will diminish its quality?
