Vaccinated against COVID-19

Please use a utilitarian calculus to explain (with as much detail as possible) why people should (or should not) be vaccinated against COVID-19. You will need to be clear as to whether you are using Mill’s or Bentham’s version of utilitarianism, and why you chose the version that you did.

Specific text treats a specific real-world issue

Write a critical essay that explores how a specific text (essay, scholarly or popular article, book, or movie—from our class or not) treats a specific real-world issue. Exercise good judgment to choose a text that is both interesting in itself AND speaks to a larger ongoing issue. What is its deeper ethical, cultural, or political impact? What (briefly) does the text say (or evade) and how does it say it? Then advance a complex argument that speaks to the issue. What do you think? What original thought(s) will you add to the conversation?
