Simple interpretation of raw logistic coefficient

1) Analyze scholarly research aimed at informing public policy
2) Correctly interpret and synthesize results of complex statistical analysis
3) Think creatively about how changes to research design could impact findings
4) Discuss how research findings inform decision making and problem-solving
Please read the following article:
Houston, D. J., & Richardson Jr, L. E. (2004). Drinking-and-driving in America: A test of behavioral assumptions underlying public policy. Political research quarterly, 57(1), 53-64.
I. Analyze the Framework

1) What is the main question that the article is attempting to answer? USE YOUR OWN WORDS (1 paragraph please).

2) How do social definitions of behavior such as deviant and “sinful” affect the choice of policy to address those behaviors? USE YOUR OWN WORDS (1 paragraph).

II. Interpretation of Statistical Analysis
The main variables of interest for the authors are two dummy variables:
• Occasional drink-driver: =1 if an occasional drink-driver, 0 otherwise (base case is never drink-driver)
• Frequent drink-driver: =1 if a frequent drink-driver, 0 otherwise (base case is never drink-driver)

Table 1: Please refer to Table 1 for the following questions:
Table 1: BAC Model
1) What is the dependent variable in this model? Please tell me what the coding is. i.e. =1 if……., 0 otherwise.

2) Simple interpretation of raw logistic coefficient Occasional drink driver. Also report statistical significance.

3) Interpretation of OR Occasional drink driver (percentages, please)

4) Simple interpretation of raw logistic regression coefficient frequent drink driver Also report statistical significance.

IT Green Computing

One of our topics in Chapter 13 surrounds IT Green Computing. The need for green computing is becoming more obvious considering the amount of power needed to drive our computers, servers, routers, switches, and data centers. Discuss ways in which organizations can make their data centers “green”. In your discussion, find an example of an organization that has already implemented IT green computing strategies successfully. Discuss that organization and share your link. You can find examples in the school Library.

The Growth of Intellectual Property

Read the articles:
The Growth of Intellectual Property: A History of the Ownership of Ideas in the United States
Key Cases and Definitions in Intellectual Property Law
The article you chose from the United States Department of Justice: CCIPS Documents and Reports
In the discussion linked below, respond to the following prompts:
Describe the similarities and differences in the types of intellectual property (IP) that should be protected. Why should those protections be allowed? Explain your position.
After reviewing the definition of intellectual property (IP) and the article you selected to read on IP rulings or legislation, what areas of concern still exist for protecting the IP that have not been addressed?
What future concerns do you anticipate could be a problem for IP?

Person in Environment perspective

present two case studies in seminar class from their caseload. Offering a brief overview of the client demographics (fictional name, age, gender identity, marital status, ethnicity and/or race), the student will present a summary of the following in a PowerPoint format:

Assessment:
How did this individual/group present to the agency and what the client(s) viewed as their challenges
Describe the biopsychosocial/cultural/spiritual assessment factors of this case.
Did you, as a social worker, identify additional needs? If so, what were they?
What did the client identify as their strengths?
What strengths did you as the social worker identify in this client?
Describe in detail how the following theories could be applicable to your client and this case:
Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development
Attachment theory
Person in Environment perspective
Cognitive Behavioral Theory
Strengths Perspective
Other (name and define the theory or theories)
Intervention
What type of intervention(s) did you offer and how does this relate to evidence-based practice (EVP)?
How did you come to choose this particular intervention?
Was the client involved in the process? Why or why not?
Discuss the response of your intervention.
Outcome and Evaluation
What was the outcome of this case?
How does this outcome relate to the EVP research?
Would you have done anything differently and if so, why?
