NGO in global health

Pick an NGO in global health (make sure to look for non-governmental organizations. For example, the WHO, CDC, UN or many not-for-profits are not NGOs). Research its position on reporting human rights violations observed in the field. What are the consequences for the reporting organization and the party responsible for the violations? What local and international organizations will make the investigations and determination on the cases? What is the value of such cases for the promotion of human rights and the advancement of Global Health efforts?

A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold

Students will prepare a 3 page single spaced book report on a relevant book of your choice. Relevant book topics include natural history, conservation,
biodiversity, evolution, ecology. There will be several assignments leading up to the final paper. Think of it as an essay; choose a thesis statement (related to
something we’ve learned in the class) and write a paper about that topic. You will be graded on clarity, spelling, grammar, etc. You may choose a book from
the list below or something else, but you must get instructor approval first.
Book:
A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold
Thesis:
Aldo Leopold, in many instances asks us questions from different perspectives. My paper will focus on two conflicting ones: Do we use nature for our benefit
or do we just enjoy it. If we do, use nature for our benefit, why and how do we use it? And if we just enjoy nature, as conversationalists, do we really enjoy it?
We tend to focus on the things that cause a negative impact on the environment and sometimes forget to just take a moment to appreciate it. Aldo Leopold
talks us through several short stories to bring us back to where we started.…

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion issues

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion issues at the University of Regina.
Consider the following questions:
Given the changing demographics of the student population (with the increase in
International and Indigenous students and others) do you feel that U of R has kept up with
the possible challenges that come as a consequence of the change?
What are the greatest challenges in overcoming issues of discrimination in society and on
campus?
What supports does the U of R maintain to foster equity, diversity and inclusion.?
If you experience or witness discrimination on campus what is the university mechanism to
deal with the situation?
Have you got suggestions, maybe from other universities, on making U of R a more inclusive
place?
While you do not need to write a formal paper addressing these questions but have point
form answers that you can submit

Explain the make-up of Reverse Logistics and tie to ROI:

Explain and contrast at least two competitive strategies
Describe RL Planning and strategy Challenges
Describe and explain the impact of Going Green
Describe and explain Environmental and sustainability
Explain the applicability of hazardous waste to reverse logistics operations
Explain the packaging and protection of hazardous materials relative to the environment
Explain ethical behavior in RL
Describe and explain emerging trends concerning RL planning and strategy
Explain procedures and technology to sustainable operations
Explain and describe the process to gain a Competitive Advantage in RL, economic, business, environmental and social factors
Product Acquisition, Grading, and Disposition Decisions
Expound on Production Planning and Control for Remanufacturing
Explicate on Markets for Remanufactured Products—Empirical Findings
Provide Examples of Existing Profitable Practices, and describe – Product Take-Back and Recovery
The choice is yours to make.

Make-up of Reverse Logistics

your research should focus on your research on reverse logistics policy development through reading trade and business journals, professional conference materials, and online.

Expressing Genes Of Interest

DNA molecule, which embodies genes, the hereditary units, is found in all living things. Science showed that genes could be expressed in any microorganism, meaning that DNA will direct the synthesis of proteins needed for various biological functions and structures.
To reduce the costs of production, pharmaceutical companies use biotechnology to generate human insulin in bacteria. Write about describing the steps leading to the production of this hormone in industrial quantities.

Randomnized controlled trials in epidemiology

Search databases in the Walden Library and locate a peer-reviewed article from the last 5 years that uses a randomized controlled trial study design. The
subject of the study may be any topic professionally relevant or interesting to your practice. You may not select an article already posted by one of your
colleagues for this Discussion. (Tip: When searching, you may use “randomized trial” as one of your search phrases.)
Critically analyze the following aspects of the research study:
Purpose
Study population
Length of the trial
Data collection methods
Outcome measures
Results and conclusions
Ethical issues associated with the study
Ask yourself: How did this research study benefit from its experimental design? What was achieved by randomization that might not otherwise have been
achieved?

FOCUSED SOAP NOTE AND PATIENT CASE PRESENTATION

Psychiatric notes are a way to reflect on your practicum experiences and connect them to the didactic learning you gain from your NRNP courses. Focused SOAP notes, such as the ones required in this practicum course, are often used in clinical settings to document patient care.
For this Assignment, you will document information about a patient that you examined during the last three weeks, using the Focused SOAP Note Template provided. You will then use this note to develop and record a case presentation for this patient.
TO PREPARE
• Select a patient of any age (either a child or an adult) that you examined during the last 3 weeks.
• Create a Focused SOAP Note on this patient using the template provided in the Learning Resources. There is also a completed Focused SOAP Note Exemplar provided to serve as a guide to assignment expectations.
Please Note:
o All SOAP (Subjective-Objective-Assessment-Plan) notes must be signed, by your Preceptor. Note: Electronic signatures are not accepted.

CASE STUDY: Preschool Child: Ricky

Ricky, age 4 years, arrives in the clinic with his mother. Ricky lives with his mother and father,
who both work full-time, and his infant sister. Their extended family lives in a different state
more than 100 miles away. Both parents are of average height and in good health. Ricky’s
mother mentions that Ricky often expresses frustration, particularly in regard to food. Conflict
over food occurs every day. Mealtime is a battle to get him to eat, unless his mother feeds him.
Ricky’s baby sister seems to tolerate all baby foods but requires her mother to spoon-feed.
Ricky’s mother is quite frustrated and concerned that he will become malnourished.
Reflective Questions

  1. What additional assessment information would you collect?
  2. What questions would you ask, and how would you further explore this issue with the
    mother?
  3. In what ways does the distance of the extended family influence this family’s approach
    to health promotion?
  4. What factors would you consider to determine whether malnourishment is a factor in
    this family?
