Scenario
You work in a gynecological office, and your office has been asked to participate in a women’s health fair. The focus of the fair is health promotion. Preventative screening for female reproductive disorders is vital to identify and treat rapidly to produce the best patient outcomes. Preventative screening includes mammogram and Pap smear and should be performed based on recommended age and associated risk factors. To promote preventative screening, your office will be creating brochures to distribute at the health fair.

Instructions
Design a women’s health brochure by choosing one of the female reproductive disorders covered in this module. In the brochure, include the following:

Overview of the disease including disease process, signs and symptoms, and risk factors

All students will be receiving help each day for 30 min. in the math lab. It will require a school wide change (effort) to implement, and the district is holding you responsible to successfully implement it in your school. Review the most current (2019) English Language Proficiency Standards and the English Language Proficiency Standards Guidance Document on the Arizona Department of Education website.

Select an elementary grade band to focus on (K, 1st, 2nd-3rd, or 4th-5th). Choose an ELP standard and sub-skill within that grade band that has a performance indicator for each proficiency level (Pre-Emergent/Emergent, Basic, and Intermediate).

Choose two of these four debate topics and give the three strongest arguments for and against. You may draw on any sources you wish, including readings, but I am most interested in your demonstrated capacity to make a case, including for a point of view you may not yourself hold.

1. “Hate speech,” which is aimed at a particular ethnicity, religion or gender, should be protected in most circumstances by U.S. and international law.
