Training And Development

After learning about the training and development process and the performance appraisal process, develop an initial post in which you:

Select and briefly describe the training process and the performance appraisal process of your organization.
Evaluate both processes and mention one strength and one weakness of each process.
Include one recommendation to overcome the weakness you mentioned.

The social determinants in a specific community

For this assignment, you will perform a case study on the social determinants in the specific community you chose in Unit I.

First, research the determinants of health that affect the community, and give an overview of the determinants of health that you identify. Provide data to support the community health needs that exist.

Next, pick one determinant of health that is of particular interest to you. You are encouraged to step out of your comfort zone and take a look at all determinants of health, not just ones that are considered common or seen in most areas across the United States. Try to identify a determinant of health that is indigenous to the community or one that has a unique impact on the community.

Fully discuss all aspects of the determinant of health that you chose, including its history and/or development over time and its specific impact on the community. Use data or examples to illustrate your findings. You should present an insightful and thorough analysis with strong arguments and evidence.

Finally, discuss a new community health program you can develop as a community health worker to positively affect the local determinant of health. Explain the expected outcomes and effects on the community.

Religion, gender, race, sexuality, and morality

After you have completed the Unit 4 material and have considered the ways that religion, gender, race, sexuality, and morality are portrayed in popular culture, consider following questions:

How can popular culture influence society’s perceptions of religion, race, gender, sexuality and morality? Share specific examples from pop culture to support your argument.
What is popular culture’s role in emphasizing or minimizing stereotypes? Does pop culture reinforce popular stereotypes or break them down? Share examples to support your position.
Share a unique example from pop culture of a counter-dominant portrayal of a gender, race, or religion (one that has not already been shared by a classmate).

Foundational Theories of Human Development Paper

Write a (4–5) three- to five-page paper (excluding APA title page and reference pages) comparing Freud, Mahler, Adler, and Erikson. Compare and contrast the developmental models of Freud and Erikson, and then compare and contrast the developmental theories of Adler and Mahler. Are there any similarities between all of them? Be sure to also address the following:
• Compare and Contrast Freud & Erikson.
• Compare and Contrast Adler & Mahler.
Similarities of all listed above
There should be:
• A brief description of each theory. Which perspective appeals to you more, and why?
• What are some ways the Adlerian approach can be applied to group counseling? What are some advantages of using a group format with this approach?
• What concepts from these psychoanalytic approaches do you see as being potentially useful in your work as a nurse psychotherapist? Describe why.
• Why should the nurse psychotherapist understand developmental theories for application in clinical practice?

Descriptive statistics for data within the organization or for health care information

There is often the requirement to evaluate descriptive statistics for data within the organization or for health care information. Every year the National Cancer Institute collects and publishes data based on patient demographics. Understanding differences between the groups based upon the collected data often informs health care professionals towards research, treatment options, or patient education.
Using the data on the “National Cancer Institute Data” Excel spreadsheet, calculate the descriptive statistics indicated below for each of the Race/Ethnicity groups. Refer to your textbook and the topic Resources, as needed, for assistance in with creating Excel formulas.
Provide the following descriptive statistics:
1. Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Median, and Mode
2. Measures of Variation: Variance, Standard Deviation, and Range (a formula is not needed for Range).
3. Once the data is calculated, provide a 150-250 word analysis of the descriptive statistics on the spreadsheet. This should include differences and health outcomes between groups.

A community assessment

Select a local area or community (your selection can represent your community) and conduct research using the following websites:

U.S. Census Bureau

Department of Health Services for your state

(Whiting Indiana)

Your research should include the following:

Trends in the data

Geographical information

Other information you can use to determine the health needs of the community

Write a 175- to 265-word response to the following questions:

What information did you find that will support this week’s assignment? What will be the most useful?

Basic themes common to both disciplines.

Identify and describe basic themes common to both disciplines.
Analyze the theoretical underpinnings of each approach by:
Describing the theory behind each approach.
Comparing and contrasting the theories with one another.
Considering the relationship to basic behavior analytic concepts.
Locate four recent evidence-based studies in the literature that share common themes, two demonstrating OBM approaches and two demonstrating I/O psychology approaches.
Consider the research questions, design, methods, and results of the studies, and analyze how they are consistent with the approach taken.
Assess if the approach taken by each study was the best approach. Explain your response.
State if I/O psychology and OBM are best seen as distinct fields or if one is more clearly a subset of the other, based on your analysis. Synthesize your analysis to justify your conclusions.
