Mobility can have either a positive or negative impact on our patient’s lives. You are the nurse of an older adult who is being discharged and need to provide education for the promotion of safe ambulation. How can mobility promote a healthy lifestyle?

Mobility has positive and negative impacts on our patients’ lives. It affects positively in a way that it helps the patient for better respiration, makes him active and healthy when he walks outside, and interacts and facilitated by neighbors. In the same way, it harms patients’ life. As a patient move out, he comes in contact with different germs that can damage their health. The safe ambulation for an older adult being discharged from the hospital is when he takes food. He walks outside to digestion of food properly and walks in the morning or evening, which makes him fresh and active. Use a belt for a safe and proper walk. Take a diet that is easily digestible because the patient does not walk more and is in bed. Take medicine on time and check the recovery speed from the disease. Avoid germs and wear neat and clean clothes. Use bacteria-killing soaps or liquids because he is in most of the time in bed, which can help him be safe from bacteria. Sleep on a clean bed and ensure the environment in which he lives is clean. Walk carefully and use comfortable footwear. Sit in an upright position to feel better. Walk about 2.5 miles, not more than this. Mobility helps to promote a healthy lifestyle in a way that it helps to correct muscular imbalances, correct the posture shape, helps to prevent injuries, make the body active to move efficiently and do work properly, reasonably, and on time and gives a better range of movement during workout and during performing other daily activities and doing everyday life work. It encourages people to participate in effective exercises and activities that can improve their cardiovascular health.

Hospitals and other healthcare settings will often implement Transmission-Based Precautions to prevent or help reduce the spread of infections to healthcare workers, as well other patients in their care. These Transmission-Based Precautions are designed to supplement standard precautions in patients/residents with documented or suspected infection/colonization of highly transmissible or epidemiologically important pathogens. The three categories of Transmission-Based Precautions include:

Contact Precautions
Droplet Precautions
Airborne Precautions
For your initial post, choose one of the Transmission Based Precautions listed above to report on. Research your selection and provide answers to the following questions: When should the precaution be implemented? What type of PPE should be used by a health care worker providing care to the patient? Are there any other considerations that apply when caring for a patient with this type of precaution? Choose an organization with which you are familiar or one in which you have an interest. The company will be First Independence Bank in Michigan. Remember you will be required to give a brief history. You will also be required to research and analyze the organization’s human resource management programs, policies, procedures, or initiatives. Evaluate their effectiveness and select a program, policy, procedure or initiative which you believe needs to be changed.
Your Change Management Plan must be beneficial to the company as a whole. Also, the plan must have the ability to be approved from the Board of Directors and/or your Executive Leadership.

Once you have a firm understanding of utilitarian ethics, review the following scenario and address the corresponding questions:
A new virus is rapidly spreading, causing a worldwide pandemic. Millions of people have died or have been hospitalized. Low-income communities, communities of color, the elderly, and those with health conditions have been disproportionately affected. Healthcare systems are crippled in many communities. Millions of people have lost their jobs. Entire business industries are devastated and/or sent into disarray as a result of the pandemic.

A vaccine was recently developed which proves highly effective in preventing the spread of the virus. Government officials are strongly encouraging people to take the vaccine, and many other organizations are even mandating a vaccine. Many people are skeptical of the long-term effects of the vaccine and/or feel pressure from the government, individuals, and other entities to receive the vaccine. Although data exists that supports the need for a vaccine in response to the damage being caused by the virus, a sizeable part of the population believe the numbers to be inflated; that people are overreacting; and that their personal rights are being infringed upon.

You are a leader in your organization, and you have a responsibility to turn profits and achieve organizational outcomes in addition to acting responsibly to protect your colleagues, employees, and external stakeholders, and maintain the health of your organization. You need to make a decision on how, or whether, you should implement a vaccine policy at your organization. As a leader, you need to consider the demographics, backgrounds, and beliefs that make up the internal and external stakeholders of your organization, and make a decision that is in the best interest for all internal and external stakeholders within your organization.
