Analysis of Investigative Focus in Mass Disaster Victim Identification

Read the book chapter by Kontanis and Sledzik (2014).
In the chapter, the authors note that “investigators must decide whether the focus will be on identifying all victims or on identification of all remains”. Discuss what you think about this statement. Do you feel that there’s an argument for one focus over the other? How does ethics play into this decision? What are some logistical challenges that mass disaster personnel face that may affect the focus of the identification effort?

To be an effective facilitator and facilitate effective interactions with justice-involved individuals,

In earlier classes in the program, you may have created a proposal for a service program you would like to build or be part of. This assignment asks you to add your facilitation skills to the creation of a service program for justice-involved individuals. It’s important to think through how you plan to engage with offenders or justice-involved individuals.

To be an effective facilitator and facilitate effective interactions with justice-involved individuals, it’s essential for professional service workers to reflect on their own mental state and their knowledge acquisition and consider how they best approach their clients. While your future workplace will dictate a lot about what program services will be offered, you will want to have your own personal philosophy on what appropriate program services should be offered to different individuals.

Write a 700- to 1,000-word proposal for a service plan based on facilitation skills and strategies discussed in this course. Begin by choosing a target population of offenders.

Include the following in your proposal:

Introduction (Who is your target population? What problem are you addressing?)
Proposal (What is your solution to the problem? Use the questions listed below.)
What programs and services do you want to be offering your demographic g

Approaches To Community Needs

1. What are your thoughts on the economical approach to a needs assessment?
2. How would you address the paradox described in the following quote: “Without a substantial increase in resources, assessment of needs, however it is undertaken, becomes an almost meaningless exercise, since the services and support required by the population will not be available (p.727)?” Why bother with a needs assessment if we never intend to meet the needs of our population?
3. Billings and Cowley (1995) believe using a case study approach to gather needs information will solve many of the issues around community profile needs assessment. Do you agree? Why or why not?
4. What are your thoughts on community data sharing (sharing of data between local agencies such as medical, law enforcement, social services, schools, etc.)? What impact might data sharing have on our ability to conduct proper needs assessments with limited resources?
5. How can you take what you have learned about needs assessments in the health field and apply it to other evaluative areas? Is what Billings and Cowley (1995) consider the best approach for community health needs assessment the best approach for needs assessments in other fields? Why or why not?

Contemplating potential needs helps in determining the requirements for a future product

Contemplating potential needs helps in determining the requirements for a future product or an application to support user requirements. Discuss how one might integrate the Great Commission into product development and analyze the important aspects of sharing the good news of Jesus with the world. Now, imagine a new interactive product that supports you in your planning and takes into account these important aspects. Present a futuristic scenario demonstrating how this product would support you.
