Successful project implementation

Stakeholder support is necessary for a successful project implementation. Consider your internal stakeholders, such as the facility, unit, or health care setting where the change proposal is being considered, and your external stakeholders, like an individual or group outside the health care setting. Why is their support necessary to the success of your change proposal, and how you will go about securing that support?

Social cognition

Social cognition is about perceiving others and how we process the people and the world around us.

How do people categorize things and people as either familiar and safe or unfamiliar and possibly dangerous?
Why do people categorize?
Can you escape categorization?
How does this impact us and how we navigate the world?
If we cannot escape categorization, can we ever eliminate prejudice?
Think about your current work situation—how there is certain work that is handled by individuals and work that is handled by teams.

When should we use groups to solve problems versus having an individual complete the work?
Discuss how your answer aligns with the theories and insights from the textbook.

HC in the market

Think specifically about the readings for this module. Think of the Healthcare marketplace not in the usual sense but as other markets. There are buyers and sellers. Take a farmer’s market. How do you pick the best tomato (i.e., the quality of the product)?

It’s the same for the selection of HC in the market. How does one measure quality? Are their rules involved? Did the rules change with COVID-19?

Clinical Judgment

Clinical Judgment is the process of integrating evidence-based practice, critical-thought, the Nursing Process, knowledge, skills, and attitudes, as well as application of theory to practice in order to promote safe, quality care to clients in all settings.
Keeping that in mind, answer the following scenario:
You are the Charge Nurse in a large Urban Emergency Department (ED). You nursing staff include:
1. RN with 12 years of Trauma ED experience
2. New RN with 6 months ED experience
3. RN from the Medical Surgical floor with 8 years of experience
The following patients are in the ED, which patient will you give to each of the nurses and why?
1. A 76-year-old client who was involved in a motor vehicle accident and has hematuria.
2. A 38-year-old client with kidney stones complaining of severe pain.
3. A 24-year-old diabetic client with an acute urinary tract infection who will require discharge teaching.
4. An 80-year-old client that has not had a bowel movement for 4 days.

Gestational, and juvenile diabetes.

Post a brief explanation of the differences between the types of diabetes, including type 1, type 2, gestational, and juvenile diabetes. Describe one type of drug used to treat the type of diabetes you selected, including proper preparation and administration of this drug. Be sure to include dietary considerations related to treatment. Then, explain the short-term and long-term impact of this type of diabetes on patients. including effects of drug treatments. Be specific and provide examples.

Leadership strategies associated with effective project management

Certainly, these leadership strategies are essential to the high performance of any organization. Put another way, in order for everyone to demonstrate good project management skills, leaders are going to have to indeed behave in a way that allows for that better project management to emerge. Describe the steps the authors recommended for helping to make sure that the leaders in this case truly did behave in a way that would support the emergence of quality outputs in relationship to project management. What specific strategies were recommended? How do you see these strategies working for leaders today?
