Organizational barriers to effective innovation

Based on the organization and change initiative you chose in Workshop Three, you will create a 3–5-page proposal of how you would then enact change using Kotter’s eight-step framework
Include a brief summary of your organization, the change initiative, the steps needed to enact change, barriers to such change efforts, and your approach and attitude toward overcoming such obstacles to enact change. What would need to happen within the organization to enact change? How does your plan address multicultural and diverse contexts? What would you need to develop to lead such change?
Keep in mind all that you have learned about the needs of adult learners, innovation, and change theory. Be able to evaluate why your approach is appropriate for your chosen organizational context and include recommendations for the organization for enacting the change.
Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:
• Analyze personal approach and attitude towards barriers to effective innovation, learning, and change and evaluate areas of development to increase leadership effectiveness.
• Identify organizational barriers to effective innovation, learning, and change.
• Evaluate areas of development to increase personal leadership effectiveness.
• Demonstrate understanding of change behavior and strategy and apply knowledge in a real-life scenario.

• Apply innovative approach to a real-life organization to foster practical learning

Everything you need to know about the fourth industrial revolution

Everything you need to know about the Fourth Industrial RevolutionWhen telephones were first invented, it took almost 75 years for 100 million people to gain access to one. In 2016, it took less than one month to hook that same amount of people to the gaming app, “Pokémon Go”. This is what analysts are calling the Fourth Industrial Revolution and it is blurring the lines between the physical, digital and biological spheres. Technologies like artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles are merging with humans’ physical lives. Key Points

A combination of new artificial technologies are changing the way we live, work and interact
Digital technology is so intertwined with many of our businesses, as well as our social and economic lives, that trying to separate “tech” and “non-tech” is becoming increasingly redundant
Studies show that technologies like artificial intelligence will eliminate some jobs, while creating demand for new jobs and skills
Discussion Questions

What can companies do to innovate as we enter into the Fourth Industrial Revolution?
Do you believe that workers and their jobs are at risk with the new industrial revolution? Why or why not?

The traditional tendency of an organization

In your own words, answer this unit’s discussion questions in a main post (recommended minimum 300 words)

The traditional tendency of an organization expanding into a foreign market is to replicate the home country operations. However, as more and more companies become multinational companies, the need to address cultural similarities and differences grows. Company XYZ is a U.S. company that is planning to expand globally.

Select a country to which Company XYZ can expand. Think about the cultural differences and similarities between both countries. Discuss how that would influence Company XYZ’s decision to expand to that country.

Carl Kaysen, an American academic known for coining the phrase “the soulful corporation”

Carl Kaysen, an American academic known for coining the phrase “the soulful corporation” to define new, more responsible large companies, believed said companies’ goal was no longer ROI. He proposed that these modern companies identify and target the much larger goal of being responsible not only to stockholders but to all. In today’s world, companies like UPS have mapped deliveries to make as many right turns as possible in order to save time, protect employees, save fuel, and reduce emissions. The NFL, Salesforce, and Walgreens have stepped up their DEI strategies to avoid bias in hiring and promotion of underrepresented groups.

With this in mind, for your initial post, describe the makeup of your project team. Then, address the following questions about your proposed strategy:

What steps are you going to take to promote CSR initiatives? For example: what community programs, nonprofits, or environmental projects will the new product or service support?
How do you plan to attract, develop, engage, and reward your project team?
In your responses to your peers, address the following questions:

What suggestions do you have for improving your classmate’s plan to demonstrate consideration of DEI and CSR?
