Clinical: Journal Reflection

Describe a new experience, significant event/patient interaction, never seen before diagnosis, etc… you have experienced in clinical this week. You can choose the same case you used for your SOAP Note this week if that case had an effect on you. Discuss the impact this had on you in terms of increasing your understanding of the PMHNP role, psychopathology, and/or the provider-patient relationship. Explore your personal strengths and limitations and their effect on the provider/patient relationship. Include reflection on your therapeutic use of self. Your discussion should reflect your specific learning/insight. Identify something specific that you learned from reflecting on this event/interaction and how will you apply that learning in your future practice?

ANOVA Multivariable Linear Regression Analysis

Using the Framingham Heart Study dataset provided, perform the ANOVA multivariable linear regression analysis using BMI as a continuous variable. Before conducting the analysis, be sure that all participants have complete data on all analysis variables.

Describe how each characteristic is related to BMI. Are crude and multivariable effects similar? What might explain or account for any differences?

Advertising campaign

Choose an advertising campaign (Links to an external site.) (not a singular advertisement) for a particular product or service that has print and video ads and do a deep semiotic reading discussing what cultural mythologies are being reflected by the campaign. Consider these questions when you are developing your argument: What cultural myths/beliefs (like conspicuous consumption (Links to an external site.), the American Dream (Links to an external site.), counterculturalism (Links to an external site.), etc.) is the ad campaign perpetuating or deconstructing? What stereotypes (about race, class, gender, sexual orientation) is the campaign perpetuating or deconstructing? How does it compare to a similar ad campaign from the past? Are different ads in the campaign focusing on different mythologies?

Extremes when it comes to the power of providers to set prices.

There are two extremes when it comes to the power of providers to set prices. At one end is the provider who has no power and must accept the reimbursement rate set by others. At the other is the provider who sets the price, which third-party payers must accept. Neither sounds like a win-win scenario. We will explore these strategies in this week’s discussion post.

You are the business manager for Dr. Jones’s new medical practice. He is hoping to open in a few months but first wants to determine his prices. He has asked you to recommend whether he should set his own prices or accept those from third-party payers. After researching both options, provide a memorandum with your recommendation.

In your memo, first provide a brief discussion of what it means to be price setter or price taker. List the pros and cons of each one. Be sure to comment on the strategies that would be used in both scenarios. Finish the memo with your recommendation.

Paired T-Test 2007

There are several advantages of using a paired t-test. Since the same subjects are being tested in each of the varying conditions, those subjects serve as their own control. This is a major advantage as you need not consider potential differences between the subjects in the control group and the subjects who are in the experimental group. Elaborate on this concept by providing examples in which you do and do not have the same subjects serving as their own control.

There are also potential problems associated with interpreting the results of a paired t-test. Imagine you are interested in determining whether an employee of a company performs better with or without a bonus. What are some issues that could affect the results if you have the same subjects tested in both situations?

Justify your answers with appropriate reasoning and research from your textbook and course readings. Start reviewing and responding to at least two of your classmates as early in the week as possible. You can ask technical questions or respond generally to the overall experience. Be honest, clear, and concise. Always use constructive language, even in criticism, to work toward the goal of positive progress. Using questions and seeking clarifications are good ways to make your reviews substantive!

Good Database Design Must Be Matched To Good Table Structure.

Good database design must be matched to good table structure. Normalization is a very important ingredient in database design.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

Why are some table structures considered to be bad and others good?
How do you recognize the difference between good and bad table structures?
What effect does normalization have on creating good tables and why should you learn so many normalization rules?

Intervention Program

Review the article Preventing Juvenile Delinquency: Early Intervention and Comprehensiveness as Critical Factors. Imagine that you have been tasked with assessing early intervention as a strategy for preventing juvenile delinquency. Do you agree with the opinions in the article? Why or why noy? Do you believe there are more effective strategies? If so, provide an example. If not, what makes early intervention the better choice?

Covid-19 vaccines

C‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍hildren, COVID-19 and the Vaccines As scientists test vaccines in young children, evidence continues to emerge about how the disease harms kids, how expanded immunizations of others might protect them, and what impact a vaccine might have. As COVID-19 vaccines are being administered to anyone age 12 and up, America’s youngest children remain the last group that cannot get a vaccination. The reopening of society this summer and the development of viral mutations leaves those children exposed in new ways, even while clinical trials are underway to develop vaccines for them. In this rapidly changing environment, researchers and policymakers want to know: Will the disease spread more among children as they return to camps, sports, and school, especially as the virus mutates? Will enough people get vaccinated in some communities to adequately protect children until a vaccine for them arrives? Does the risk of illness from COVID-19 outweigh the potential side effects of the vaccinations for some of them? Instructions – Provide a 2 to 3 research page (How to write a research paper) paper that includes the following items: 1. A description of the role/position as you understand it, specifically – The level of the management the position is on (please remember- none of the positions is about Chief Executive, Chief Financial or Chief Operations officers at hospitals or other HC organizations. Your roles are not performing at the senior executive level); -Immediate supervisory and subordinate chains; – The main skills that are necessary to be effective and efficient in this position. 2. An explanation as to how the role you have selected is vital to this particular case: -Discuss two job-specific managerial points affecting your organizational performance from the position of the provider Case-Study: (see content above, and in Week 1 and in the class Announcement Case: Children, COVID-19 and vaccines Job: a financial/business officer. Managerial issue: an inability to send payments to the vendors for the supplies due to the lack of funds. Reason: a high number of rejected health care insurance claims or not insured population served; high supply utilization due to the contagious nature of the issue and requirements to its clinical management. Organizational outcome: clinical services are lacking appropriate medicine and supplies>low patient satisfaction‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍>people refuse to come to the clinic or follow the treaments> low service utilization>reduced clinic income. Solution: The business officer seeks additional funding sources from government organizations and grant providers. The insurance claim process is reassessed and the insurance claim cycle optimization process is established. ***This example cannot be used in the students’ submissions. 3. A description of how your role will interact with the other roles. What will the reporting structure look like? Who will you be working with and in what capacity? The paper (no more than 3 pages) should be formatted according to APA style requirements and include a minimum of two credible resources from the course readings,
