EVALUATION PLAN PROJECT: EVALUATION FOCUS

Because of the great differences between HIT systems and different goals of an evaluation, there is no one-size-fits-all evaluation plan. Different technologies require different evaluation methods. Consequently, in this part of your Evaluation Plan Project, you will conduct research on how system implementations similar to the one you select have been previously evaluated. After exploring similar system implementations, you will select one research goal and viewpoint to use in the evaluation.
To prepare:
• Review the case study you chose for your evaluation plan. Consider what viewpoint and research goal you would use to guide your evaluation plan. Although many potential research goals or viewpoints could be selected for your case study, you are only required to choose one goal and one viewpoint.
• Research three published evaluations that have been conducted on HIT system implementations similar to the case study you selected.
In a 3- to 4-page paper:
• Identify which of the cases from the text you will be evaluating in this project, summarize the case, and explain why you selected the system featured in the case.
• Next, summarize your three research findings on similar HIT implementations. Include the models, evaluation methods, findings, and plans for reevaluation in each article.
• Critique the HIT implementations in your research: Identify successful and unsuccessful elements of the implementations. Explain the reasons for the successful elements. Identify areas for improvement and explain why (or how) they could be improved.
• Create an evaluation goal and identify the viewpoint related to the goal that will guide your own evaluation plan. Provide your rationale for choosing that goal and viewpoint.

Mycorrhizae play a crucial role in organic gardening and sustainable agriculture

Mycorrhizae play a crucial role in organic gardening and sustainable agriculture by forming symbiotic relationships with plant roots. These beneficial fungi establish a mutually beneficial association with plants, providing several advantages:

Nutrient uptake: Mycorrhizal fungi extend their hyphae, which are thread-like structures, into the soil and increase the surface area available for nutrient absorption. They have a particularly high affinity for phosphorus, which can be limited in organic systems. By accessing and delivering nutrients to plants, mycorrhizae enhance their growth and overall nutrient status.
Water absorption: The extensive network of hyphae formed by mycorrhizal fungi acts as an extension of the plant’s root system. This network can explore a larger soil volume, increasing water absorption and retention capacity. In sustainable agriculture, this can help conserve water resources and improve plant resilience during periods of drought.
Disease resistance: Mycorrhizal associations can enhance the plant’s immune response and improve disease resistance. The fungi release compounds that stimulate the plant’s defense mechanisms, making them more resistant to soil-borne pathogens. This can reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fungicides in organic gardening.
Soil structure and fertility: Mycorrhizal fungi play a vital role in improving soil structure and fertility. Their hyphae create channels and aggregates, improving soil porosity and allowing better air and water movement. This enhances root penetration and nutrient availability while reducing soil compaction. Moreover, mycorrhizae contribute to the formation of stable soil aggregates and increase organic matter decomposition, further enhancing soil fertility.
Environmental sustainability: Mycorrhizal associations contribute to sustainable agricultural practices by reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers and chemicals. They optimize nutrient uptake, reducing nutrient leaching and minimizing environmental pollution. By improving soil health and structure, mycorrhizae contribute to the long-term sustainability of agricultural ecosystems.
In summary, mycorrhizae are beneficial fungi that form symbiotic relationships with plant roots, aiding in nutrient uptake, water absorption, disease resistance, soil structure, and environmental sustainability. Incorporating mycorrhizal inoculants or promoting natural populations of mycorrhizae can be an effective strategy for organic gardening and sustainable agriculture.

Corporate Fraud Case involving HealthSouth

You are a director within your healthcare system at one of the local healthcare facilities and serve as an ad hoc ethics committee member. Your healthcare system’s ethics committee is a multidisciplinary team composed of physicians, nurses, social workers, administrators, chaplains, and other employees. The primary ethics team members include your Committee Chair, which is your Chief Nursing Officer, your company’s Legal Counsel, a Local Ethics Advisor, and several ad-hoc members. A situation has recently occurred at your facility, the ethics committee has requested your assistance to review the information and will require you to present this information at the next meeting.

Strategy/policy and your Christian worldview

Review the Thompson text and apply your knowledge of strategy/policy and your Christian
worldview as you evaluate the firm used in the case study.
Search the Bible (either the Old or New Testament) for verse(s) that would guide you in
answering the Ethical/Social/Financial Issues (you may choose from topics from the Thompson
textbook) that you have identified or that may be present in the firm and how this would guide
strategic choice.
At least 500 words, discuss this Bible verse(s) and your Christian worldview as they
relate to your chosen Ethical/Social Issues questions.

A suggested format for this assignment is as follows:
a. First section: Discuss a problem or key area identified in your research of the firm. What is the Ethical/Social/Financial Issues identified (from a strategy/policy perspective).
b. Second section: State and discuss the Bible verse(s) that are relevant to the identified area. To properly address this section, it will require biblical research to put your verse(s) into context for the next section.
c. Third paragraph: Discuss/analyze the importance of the Bible verse(s) in addressing your chosen topic from a Christian worldview perspective.

Recommendations for how they might strengthen the leadership behaviors

Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days by making recommendations for how they might strengthen the leadership behaviors profiled in their StrengthsFinder assessment, or by commenting on lessons to be learned from the results that can be applied to personal leadership philosophies and behaviors.

Develop a focused SOAP note, including your differential diagnosis and critical-thinking process to formulate a primary diagnosis. Incorporate the following into your responses in the template:
• Subjective: What details did the patient provide regarding their chief complaint and symptomology to derive your differential diagnosis? What is the duration and severity of their symptoms? How are their symptoms impacting their functioning in life?
• Objective: What observations did you make during the psychiatric assessment?
• Assessment: Discuss the patient’s mental status examination results. What were your differential diagnoses? Provide a minimum of three possible diagnoses with supporting evidence, and list them in order from highest priority to lowest priority. Compare the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for each differential diagnosis and explain what DSM-5-TR criteria rules out the differential diagnosis to find an accurate diagnosis. Explain the critical-thinking process that led you to the primary diagnosis you selected. Include pertinent positives and pertinent negatives for the specific patient case.
• Plan: What is your plan for psychotherapy? What is your plan for treatment and management, including alternative therapies? Include pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments, alternative therapies, and follow-up parameters, as well as a rationale for this treatment and management plan. Also incorporate one health promotion activity and one patient education strategy.
• Reflection notes: What would you do differently with this patient if you could conduct the session again? Discuss what your next intervention would be if you were able to follow up with this patient. Also include in your reflection a discussion related to legal/ethical considerations (demonstrate critical thinking beyond confidentiality and consent for treatment!), health promotion, and disease prevention, taking into consideration patient factors (such as age, ethnic group, etc.), PMH, and other risk factors (e.g., socioeconomic, cultural background, etc.).
• Provide at least three evidence-based, peer-reviewed journal articles or evidenced-based guidelines that relate to this case to support your diagnostics and differential diagnoses. Be sure they are current (no more than 5 years old).
