The public budget

The public budget evolved over time. The Federal Budget, and how it gets made, is a complex, lengthy process that has important implications for Federal, State, and Local agencies. Obviously, funding for each agency is going to affect that agency’s budget. Likewise, federal funding for social programs, for education, and for other programs, such as disaster relief, affects how state and local agencies fund those programs within their own budgets. Choose one federal agency or department from the A-Z Index of U.S. Government Departments and Agencies . Compare the federal budget with the budget of your selected department and note how they are interconnected.

In a 3–4 page paper (not including cover and reference page), address the following:

  1. Prepare a concise history of the public budget. Title this section Public Budget. (Note: This section should not include your selected federal agency or department.)
  2. Examine the federal budget submission process. Title this section Submission Process.
  3. Determine if the budget of your selected department or agency supports the mission of the agency or department. Title this section Mission.
  4. Determine how the budget has affected a policy of the department or agency. Title this section Policy.
  5. Evaluate how the budget of the agency or department has changed over the last five to ten years. Title this section Budget Changes.

Group therapy can alleviate feelings of isolation and foster a supportive and collaborative environment for sharing difficult feelings

Group therapy can alleviate feelings of isolation and foster a supportive and collaborative environment for sharing difficult feelings in order to facilitate healing. For many people, being part of a group that has a shared understanding of a struggle provides a unique opportunity to gain understanding of their own experiences.
As you examine one of the group therapy demonstrations from this week’s Learning Resources, consider the role and efficacy of the leader and the reasons that specific therapeutic techniques were selected.

In a 3- to 4-page paper, identify the video you selected and address the following:
Refer to this YOU TUBE link Gerber, B. (2013, November 21) on YouTube
video tittle Psychotherapy Group for Schizophrenia and use the attached paper for reference of how the assigment is to be dome. I will attach 2 previous student work make sure you don’t plagiarism them please.
• What group therapy techniques were demonstrated? How well do you believe these techniques were demonstrated?
• What evidence from the literature supports the techniques demonstrated?
• What did you notice that the therapist did well?
• Explain something that you would have handled differently.
• What is an insight that you gained from watching the therapist handle the group therapy?
• Now imagine you are leading your own group session. How would you go about handling a difficult situation with a disruptive group member? How would you elicit participation in your group? What would you anticipate finding in the different phases of group therapy? What do you see as the benefits and challenges of group therapy?
• Support your reasoning with at least three peer-reviewed, evidence-based sources, and explain why each of your supporting sources is considered scholarly. Attach the PDFs of your sources.

Fixed Overhead Costs

Brandt Gardner, the owner-manager of a small firm that manufactures feed processing equipment and round-hay bailers, is unhappy with the latest report on financial performance in the Kansas City, Missouri, plant. The company had recently installed a standard cost system in the Kansas City plant with the objective of controlling manufacturing costs. The performance report for the year ended revealed that the variances for materials, labor, and variable overhead were all within the desired ranges, but the fixed overhead spending and volume variances were both significantly unfavorable. Brandt wanted an explanation of the fixed overhead variances and a recommendation.

Which do you think is more important for control of fixed overhead costs: the spending variance or the volume variance? Explain.

As you learned this week, planning for the future is an important role of the financial manager. Developing a financial forecast helps ensure that the financial goals of an organization are met. In particular, cash forecasts are the most important tool for monitoring and controlling corporate cash. Without them, good cash management is simply impossible.
Explain why it would be beneficial to prepare a cash forecast, or a cash budget, for an organization.
Share the best practices you would implement when budgeting for an organization.
